It’s aroma is rather noticable, with some hops and malt. It’s appearance is rather ordinary golden, with a minor head. It’s flavor is mix of sweet malt and some spices. It’s a bit astringent a little to bitter on the way down. MrBunn (1535), Western, Pennsylvania, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Apr 13, 2008 Bottle. "Suds" would be a fairly good description of the appearance... Light color with a soapy head. Aroma of corn and honey with a touch of peppery hops. Flavor is a little soapy with a mix of sweet malt and very little to set Dixie apart from the other several thousand other pale lagers. blipp (1678), Newark, New Jersey, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 12, 2008 Bottle. Pours gold with an off white head. Sweet malt aroma with grain and cereal. Light body. Flavor is light malt and slightly sour with a touch of sweetness. Unimpressive, but it’s better than Bud, not that that’s an accomplishment. DKTN (110), Mc Donald, Tennessee, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Apr 7, 2008 Bottle, 12 oz. Looks and tastes like a pale lager, although this one is better than most. nearbeer (1834), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 2, 2008 12 oz. Clear topaz with a small, sorta-lasting head. Aroma is grain, honey, and maybe some peanuts. Flavor is strangely similar, and not unpleasant. Maybe its the cypress barrels? Light-medium body is a bit too frothy and slightly dry. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Mar 26, 2008 12oz bottle poured into a glass. DB pours medium yellow with a medium-sized white head that settles almost immediately. It has a slightly sour and slightly fruit aroma punctuated with a faint smell of chemically treated water. The taste is grainy with corn husks that reminds me of harvest in the fields. The body is heavy for a pale lager. This is a decent pale lager as far as it goes. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Mar 22, 2008 pours a normal beerish yellow. Has a small quickly dissipating head. Tastes like grain with a bit of smoke flavor in the aftertaste. A little bit sweet. I wouldn’t buy again but it’s cool to see the Dixie beer name living on. My dad told me Dixie used to be all over back in the day. YourDarkLord (1800), Urbana, Illinois, USA
