| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 22, 2008 bottle. average frothy white head (quickly and fully dissapating). clear amber body. aromas of grass and corn. flavor was a bit off-putting light bitter with light cheap sweet in middle. short duration length. dry texture. average carbonation. NOT A GOOD BEER! I understand that it is being made in the mid-west now. FishManLA (297), Abita Springs, Louisiana, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 20, 2008 This beer was a victim of Katrina. When it was brewed in New Orleans, and aged in 100+ year old cypress wine barrels, I’d have given it a much higher rating. I believe Huber uses cypress chips in the ageing tanks to simulate the cypress barrel aging. Not the same. It’s not horrible, but not special either. The New Orleans based owners of Dixie are looking for a buyer that will bring the brewing of Dixie back to Louisiana. If they find one, this beer may change (for the better or worse, who knows) yet again! ChainGangGuy (2592), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear golden body with a small, short-lived white head.
Smell: Light aroma of pale malts and cooked corn with a single, lone drop of honey.
Taste: Exceedingly pale maltiness with a sweet corn taste. Hops give a little zip of grassiness and a mild (and I do mean mild) bitterness. Fairly clean and crisp on the finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A "slow brewed" beer made for quick chugging. Tastes like a Pabst Plus. KAF (441), Coralville, Iowa, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Feb 16, 2008 Pale yellow pour with some carbonation and afinger thick white head. Sweet maltiness on the nose. The flavor is not sweet malt at all. Very dull and unappealing. LinusStick (1847), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 15, 2008 This was a very good pale lager. Aroma was so so. Corn and light malt with just a hint of skunk. Pour was a clear bubbly gold with a one finger white head. Taste was full for a pale lager. Sweet light malt with a hint of hops in the distance. Great lawnmower beer. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Feb 12, 2008 Pours a slightly fogged straw gold with a minimal white head. Nose is like roasted malts with a sweet tone to it. Flavor has a roasted edge to it, but it just doesn’t seem clean at all. Pretty uneven and out of balance. I don’t like it. Feel is standard. I can’t really say this is that drinkable. bhensonb (4347), Woodland, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 9, 2008 Grassy hop aroma with perhaps a bit of pale malt. Bright golden color with a frothy white head that stuck for awhile. Near medium in body with coarse carbonation. Almost corny grain flavor backed by light grassy hop. Better than Bud, but not all that much. Finish does leave some bitter, which helps.
