pretty dissappointing. had kind of a metalic taste in a bottle. OK for a "plain" lager hughie (3065), Bedford, Bedfordshire, England
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 14, 2006 Light golden with no head. The aroma was sweet with a touch of fruit. After that there wasn’t a great deal to report beyond a prickle of carbonation and the slightest hint of dryness. aligirlie714 (4), New Orleans, Louisiana, USA does not count | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 7, 2006 CLASSIC- light in color and flavor, good daytime beer, something that would go well with pizza or and sandwich. Is popular with the New Orleans locals. hopmalt (15), syracuse, New York, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2006 From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with no freshness date. Made an average appearance, poured a clear lager golden with a small bubbly white head that quickly reduced to a thin lacing. Had a sweet grainy malty aroma with whiffs of apples. Medium carbonation and a slick, smooth medium bodied mouth feel, average drinkability. Taste was also a smooth sweet grainy maltiness, just a hint of woodiness and a crisp, sweet woody finish.

I was in town to hear my friend play the piano, and I was surprised to find a couple of pretty good bars in the "historical district." The Blue Bayou actually had a pretty good selection of bottles, and about four taps. I decided to try some of the more interesting looking beers. I’d heard of Dixie, but never tasted it. It wasn’t really anything special. I ended up splitting it with a friend, and moved on to an IPA. This stuff still beats out just about every macro pale lager I’ve had though.
