Looks like something yellow that should be in the toilet. Thin fizzy head. Aroma is sweet and grassy. Thin and watery mouthfeel. Light malt flavors, along with fruit and a dash of hops. Overall for cheap American beer it was good. I wouldn't be afraid to drink it again. I bet it would be really good while sitting in a jazz club in New Orleans. Looks like every other lager in the world. Nice fruity flavour, with some orange and lemon. This beer was a bit of a surprise, I'd never hear of it, and it was really cheap; but there is lots of flavour here, and it's tasty, fruity and relatively exciting. It seems to me that they sold it in 10 oz. cans during the 80’s. Pretty much a "I’ll have another" in those days. Fast forward to today: Dixie is a pretty darn good lager! I suppose that the brand was sold off, because it actually has an unusual depth of malt flavor and body. If you have not had Dixie in a while, give it another try. UPDATE 2/2008: The current Dixie brewed by Huber Brewing WS. is absolute shite. This has the Huber signature, and does not taste at all like Dixie. Is this the Huber contract brewing formula? Just simply put the contractee’s label on a bottle of Huber lager? Avoid this beer until the brewery is up and running again in the Crescent City. MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

Nothing much different from most macros except that it has a little stronger malt and hops flavor. Typical light gold color with a little head and plenty of carbonation. Tried this one agian in the bottle. Actually not bad. Fairly refreshing and beats most macro lagers. TheGreatKen (76), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 30, 2003 This beer is very malty. It tastes a little different than the lighter lagers. Like most lagers, it has a minimal head. adwoan99 (244), Ft. Worth, Texas, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/20 | Nov 2, 2003 Pours piss-yellow, but with a decent sized head. Aroma is a bit sour, a little malt, but no hops present at all. Tastes like a lager, and believe it or not, didn't seem too terribly bad. More flavourful than Pilsner Urquell, but those aren't flavours that you will enjoy. Still watery, still no flavour, still a drain-pour.
