Aroma is malty, but laced with corn. Flavor is weak, but some malt and (actually) some hops. Not that great... thooper41 (384), Oregon, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 28, 2009 12oz bottle: apperance is golden brown with slow fading white head, aroma is like old bread, flavor is pretty complex for a pale lager malty and has an added sour taste that adds to the flavor. Pretty different for a lager. thegreenrooster (1835), St.louis, Missouri, USA

Flavor is a little better than the average lager with a heavier body and a little hops in the aftertaste. A ok lager and deffinalty worth the novelty alone. johndoughty (2156), cheslyn hay, West Midlands, England

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 16, 2009 I always enjoyed Dixie beer, and it was only $3.99 a six pack (bottles) before Hurricane Katrina hit. The storm destroyed the brewery, which I had visited the month before. It’s sad to drive by the facility now, after so many years of passing by and seeing the workers doing their jobs. Well, Dixie was aged in cypress barrels which gave it a unique taste. It was usually cloudy and a bit sour, but was good and different. A more of an old time beer. Most people under 40 told me they hated it, but older folks said they liked it. The folks brewing it now, did a good job of sticking to the original recipe.
