Light body, watery texture, active carbonation. Some sweet biscuit and a dash of corn and wood in the taste, lightly sour, lightly floral, lightly bitter crisp finish. Seems like an interesting compromise between a Pils and a Mexican lager. beerinmarch (2800), Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Mar 3, 2009 From the bottle pour straw gold with a thin stripe of a white head. I don’t pick up any of the cypress, maybe it’s more of a "driftwood aging" gimmick. Overall this isn’t offensive in any way, maybe not exciting, but drinkable. Doughy malts and a soft honey note. Balanced, hops add a soft spiciness.
Oh, and don’t forget, incredible "pure yeast" character. jimmack34 (567), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 1.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 1/5 | 3/10 | 1/5 | 6/20 | Mar 3, 2009 Bottle. Smelled like stale feed corn. Light hop bitterness and corn and grain in the taste. Watery. boFNjackson (1302), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 1/5 | 7/20 | Feb 20, 2009 This was a sub-par beer. I’m guessing Dixie is to New Orleans what Henry Weinhard’s is to Portland. Poured a honey tone with a white head that faded quickly. I did not like the carbonation with this one, too thick and way too much carbonation. Pretty one dimensional as the style serves. Cracker malt grains a little bit of citrus and pine toned hops and that’s pretty much it. jujubeast6000 (784), Houston, Texas, USA

Pours a very clear, very pale yellow colored body, with a smallish creamy white head that’s diminishing. Has a banana malty aroma. Grainy, and light smelling. Almost effervescent. Watery taste, grainy. Maybe corn. Light taste. dkachur (2376), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 31, 2009 12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a large head. Average head retention and poor lacing. Aroma is grain, corn and skunk. Taste is tart grain and corn. Medium bodied. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 31, 2009 Pours a light clear yellow color with fizzy white head. Smell is corn-ish sweetness to the malt and a touch cereal like. Perhaps corn pops. Taste is a bit less sweet than the smell perhaps, with a crisp, bubbly watery taste at first followed by a corn-pop like sweet malt finish. Lightly grassy bittering hops that balance enough to drink more than one of these. Not a terrible pale lager, and pretty clean with a lightly corny finish. dm9831 (1167), Monee, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 24, 2009 clear gold color, respectable white head, slightly lacy. nose of musty malt laced with a sweet corniness. flavor is mildly malty with not much else to round it out. medium bodied, a bit fizzy, lightly bitter finish. i misspent much of my youth drinking this at the old maple tree inn on 107th and western. say something pithy (i am writing my notes verbatim).
