Poured from 12 oz bottle a clearish drak brown/black, with little to no foamy head. Aroma of roasted malts, a bit of hops, light chocolate nuts, coffee and sweet caramels! Flavour much of the same, tastey swarzbier. Impressed!

It’s been a long time since I ran across this beer. Used to be a favorite at the Backdoor Tavern back in the day. Pours a dark reddish hue with a nice tan head. Sweet caramel aroma, clean mouthfeel, full of sweet, roasted malts. Great nutty finish. Easy drinking, although doesn’t seem quite as dark, or as dry (?) as I remember... but that was at least 8 years ago. Is it a top rated beer? No. Is it complex? Not really. But it is a great beverage, quite refreshing to me, and I tend to migrate toward complex brews. Guess I’ll fire up the waybackmachine and seek out the Crimson Voodoo...

Not as I remembered it pre-hurricane. Dark brown pour. Sweet aroma and taste. It is a little overly sweet and the subtle flavors are hidden.

pours a ruby brown with a thin foamy tan head. Aroma is soft nutty malt, some light plum and chocolate tones. Flavour is pretty light, some burnt toast and caramel tones, again some light darker fruit.

Dark reddish/brown with a small head that lingered and left pretty decent lacing. Slight chocolate and caramel aromas. Same with the taste, with some nuttiness and slight fruity hops. A bit thin, but clean, pleasant aftertaste.

Wow, a lot of malt in the aroma. Tons of malt in the flavor as well. A small hint of coffee, plenty of carbonation. An okay beer.
