Dark amber pour with notes of malt, , slight caramel, nothing overwhelming. Went down nice enough, just not much flavor going on to make me want to revisit it. morrdt (608), Jacksonville, Florida, USA

Pours a dark amber color with a little head. Light aroma of malt and brown sugar. Taste is not bad, but nothing memorable. Seems like this should be better. TikiE (360), Sylva, North Carolina, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 5, 2008 12 oz. Clear darkish amber, with a small, lasting head. Malty marshmallow and molasses aroma. Flavor is similar, with some woodsy, dry herb hop on the finish. Light-medium body starts smooth and tingly, but finishes a little too frothy and airy. TheBeerOrg (1585), Kentucky, USA

Taste of caramel, light graininess, crackers. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Easy drinking amber lager, don’t know that I’d call this a schwarz cking (1041), North Canton, Ohio, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Mar 3, 2008 This was brewed for Dixie Brewing by Joseph Huber Brewing Co. A subtle burnt aroma with strong notes of black strap molasses. Amber-brown pour with a thin, fizzy, light tan head and minimal streaks of lacing. Medium bodied and well carbonated. There’s an empty finish with a metallic aftertaste. Flavors of mild coffee and nuts. Sweet and burnt earthy malt. Rather weak and thin, I wonder if the recipe has suffered due to being contract brewed. fattibobatti (246), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
