Bottle [this one brewed in WI, not LA]. Sourish dusty aroma has caramel and metallic BMC qualities to go with a nice dash of nuttiness and stale cardboard. Amber-brown body, dim but not opaque, with a lacing, tiny-bubbled light brown head. Crisp, thin body. Taste is lightly sour and acidic with matching roasty tones. Caramel and an industrial attempt at fruit. Slightly rooty with a pleasant sort of standard sweetness (not quite aspartame). Dry, slightly metallic finish. Can’t say I hate this, but I’m sure not buying it again.

From a 12 oz bottle this poured an odd amber color with an off-white head and big lacing rings. Nose of caramel malts and citrus hops. Medium mouthfeel. Flavor of malts and hops. Good drinkable beer.

Sampled during joebrew’s Wednesday evening beer tasting at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Pours a clear amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and ring top. Aroma of light caramel malt, some citrus zest, a touch of berry and some creamed corn. Taste is light to medium bodied, plenty of carbonation with flavors of a caramel malt and citrus brew. Finish has a good balance of sweetness and dry malt aftertaste. This could be considered a good session beer.

Pours thinly to burnt caramel color. Bready honey and maple syrup aroma; lightly pungent with cloying sugar and high fructose corn syrup. A bit of cinnamon toward the back. Flavors of wet old wood and flat lemon and lime soda; lightly tart, softly bitter, and very bored. Tacky, sticky, and thin in the mouth; mild, sugary berries in the dry finish. Altogether, unpleasant.

Light brown in color with a small off white head. Malty aroma. Malty flavor as well but not too much else.

Pours a copper color with a tan head. Aroma is of slight roasted malts, chocolate, dark fruits, and caramel malts. Flavor was a little strong up front with the roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, and dark fruits. Finishes with not much flavor.

Bottle. Sweet caramel malt aroma. Red-amber color with giant beige head. Slightly sweet caramel malt flavor with a hint of cherry. In the 80s, this was one of the best US beers out there. Still a decent beer.
