(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a beautiful dark brown with an orange glow and a creamy, beige head leaving some laces. Sweetish, roasted nose. Medium body with lots of delicate roasted malt and some light accents of chocolate. Yummy. Underlying sweet edge but still manages to end overwhelmingly dry. Lovely indeed. Sad if this beer is gone for good with the flooding of Dixie Brewing. 270306

Very different....not sure if I like the mouthfeel or aromas but the finish is reasonable....very thick and can be a bit skunky if you get a bad bottle!

this is the one i usually go for when at the house of blues or in new orleans next to the rather plane dixe. brown with a tan head, nose mostly of dark breads. palate plays same role with malt sweet toffee character, slight roasted back end feel. could be a little more robust and full.

Bottle. Clear brown coloured with an off white head. Sweet aroma of malts, caramel and rye bread. Sweet flavour of malts, and caramel with metallic notes and notes of fruits and rye bread. Light hoppy finish. A bit watery.

Bottle Extremely different scent, coming as I’ve heard from the wood on the barrels (Cypress?) Dark red-brown color brown head fruity but thin, low bitterness and virtually no after taste I came to think a lot of rotten meat...

(Bottle) Purchased at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY. Pours a large tan frothy head which dissipates into a thin film and a deep reddish-brown body. Nose of toasted malt, caramel slim coffee. Flavour of roasted malt, tin, vanilla, sour cream and pennies. Not bad but pretty good for a Gulf State! Cheers
