Bottle Extremely different scent, coming as I’ve heard from the wood on the barrels (Cypress?) Dark red-brown color brown head fruity but thin, low bitterness and virtually no after taste I came to think a lot of rotten meat...

(Bottle) Purchased at Beers of the World in Rochester, NY. Pours a large tan frothy head which dissipates into a thin film and a deep reddish-brown body. Nose of toasted malt, caramel slim coffee. Flavour of roasted malt, tin, vanilla, sour cream and pennies. Not bad but pretty good for a Gulf State! Cheers

Poured slightly watery translucent licorice color with a bland sweet aroma. Taste was flat and not interesting. Eh.

Bottle. Poured reddish brown hue, bit of a thick head. Sweet aroma. Taste was bitter to sweet to bitter again. Not bad, but not my favourite either.

From a 12 oz. long neck brown bottle with no freshness date. Made a good appearance, poured a ruby hued chocolate brown with a nice foamy pale tan head that reduced to a thin lacing and a minimal amount of sticking. Had a very faint sweet caramel aroma, with whiffs of toasted grain and barley and an alcoholic ripe fruitiness. Moderate carbonation and a medium bodied mouth feel, decent drinkability. Taste was at first a dark ripe fruitiness, followed by a soft bitterness and a watery caramel finish with a sweet metallic flavor lingering in the palate.

Bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a small rocky off-white head that diminished quickly. Medium body with a thin texture. Light bitter sweet flavor with a short finish. Drinkable once.
