Taste is malty and also plum-like. Long lasting, sweet aftertaste. This is my first schwarzbier, but the style seems to be enjoyable. goozen (1102), Leiden, Netherlands

Nose has a flowery hop and caramel malt aroma. Flavor is similar, but perhaps slightly thinner, than one would expect. Some burnt taste. Sort of watery. RAYBOY01 (1864), Chicago, Illinois, USA

It did have a slight malty/roasted nose. My first sip I started thinking "hey, this is gonna be good". It started with a nice malty flavor, rich, almost licorice like. BUT that faded very quickly to a bad metallic like finish that really stood out. I let it warm up a bit to see if the malt would dominate, but all I kept tasting was the horrible metallic flavor.
