Not impressed. I was expecting a nice red color and it was not that. I wouldn’t pour it out, but I probubly will not have it again.

Maybe I just don’t get it, maybe I just believe the package and follow all instructions like a good boy. But when I buy something with the word "crimson" I expect a blood-red thick substance to ooze slowyly out of the bottle. When I drink something with the word "crimson" on the bottle, I want to have the experience of death’s cold had around my throat, choking me while I attmept to get down that onle last drop of beer before succumbing to the unyielding pressure. I want the liquid to lounge in the lowest recesses of my bowels, taunting me and forcing me to rush to the nearest location and attempt to dislodge the "crimson" creature attempting to take over my bodily functions. The word "Crimson" evokes these images within my mind. Of the aforementioned phenomena, Dixie’s crimson voodoo ale did none.

Foggy brown pour, small off white head. Malt and dried fruit aroma. Sweetened, roasted malt flavor. Light body, a bit watery. Good.

Bottle. Red tinged amber. Nose is slightly stale hops, light maltiness, and faint dried fruit. Taste is malt and hoppy with some dry spicy notes. Not too bad and much better than I expected. Light caramel and light floral hops with light spiciness. Decent enough. Body is medium with above average carbonation. Finishes with more light hopiness and some watery caramel and maltiness. Not as bad as expected.

12 oz bottle, not terrible, but not something I’d have first on my recommendation list. I’d hardly describe it as crimson in color, but Dixie Brewing Co. must be confused since they’re brewing in Louisiana, I don’t know if they’re shouting "Roll Tide" and wearing Bama’s Colors. Otherwise ,we might have gotten something more colorful? Slight Caramel aroma but alltogether weak. The beer had a noticeable metallic taste to it and could use a little more carbonation. I’d describe it as mild. The aftertaste could have been kicked up a notch as it was somewhat bland.

Better than average dark lager, certainly, but not something I return to often. I think this has gotten a rather undeserved negative rating, but I can’t seem to work up much enthusiasm to convince you to reconsider...

Pours brownish with slight red hue. Little to no head. Nose is slightly malty with oxidation. Nice mouthfeel, smooth, metallic, oxidized, unusual bitterness on palate. Disappointing brew from Dixie.

12 oz bottle: Pours out dirty water brown with a reddish tint. not much head and no lacing.
Aroma is caramel, burnt sugar malt.
Flavor is much the same, kind of reminds me of peanut brittle. weird.
Okay so I spent a buck on a single bottle of this. In the end I’m out a buck, but at least I didn’t buy a sixer.
