Small off-white head, lightly fizzy. Ample aroma of light roast, caramel, chocolate and some sweet brown sugar. Flavor is more of the same, light sweet roast, a bit of sugariness that seems a tad artificial, but not too much so. Flavor is full, at least, while not horribly complex. Still, for a largely produced lager, this stuff is great. Body is medium with an almost creamy consistency. This could get boring and sweet in large doses though. Has a nice warm glow to the color. Malty tones of ripe fruit. Finish is almost creamy. I rather ejoyed this beer. sloth (1678), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA

Malty nose, light butterscotch notes. Med/light body, creamy. Medium sweet malty flavor, grainy. Dry finish. Better than i expected. DrunkAsASkunk (847), Lynnwood, Washington, USA
| 1.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 2/10 | 1/5 | 5/20 | Jul 12, 2004 Dude, Dixie just flat out sucks. These guys should just cave in and merge with Gluek, they’d be doing the world a favor and then at least we’d know to expect crap from them. This poured a headless brown with hints of red and absolutely no head. It was slightly clear around the edges of the glass and you could easily see the excesses of carbonation. I mean this was carbonated to hell and back! The nose was very dull. Hints of malt and wood, but really very dull, not much there. The taste though is where, as all dixie beers go, it all goes downhill. First of all, what the hell is with the finish. Its like plastic, pepper and lemon all rolled into one. I mean this was one unusual and awful mouthfeel. It actually tasted like ass...if brown could be a flavor, that’s what this tasted like. Cardboardly mouthfeel, dry and artificial malt finish. Please stop brewing your beer dixie! Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
