I could not quite put my finger on the flavor; somewhere between strawberries and cranberries. A decent beer but I would not travel far to find it. bigal9699 (152), Orange County, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jul 19, 2002 Deep amber color. Medium sized foamy head, light tan in color. Very mild nose - faint traces of malt and rice - smells like Bud. Light and crisp palate. Very mild flavors - again, like Bud - rice, vegetal hops, a bit metalic and yeasty. Boring stuff. Whats with Louisiana? Abita and now this. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

This tastes like light beer, hardly any palate or real flavor; nothing stimulating. The finish reminds me of body odor. Possibly brewed with twigs, dirt, or gumbpo or whatever the hell they use for ingrediants. BUT, the aroma is beyond faboo for me. MaxPower (961), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 26, 2002 I’m not a big fan of maltiness, and this is nothing if not malty. Nevertheless, a drinkable brew, and I imagine even more so after walking around outside for a little while on one of New Orleans’ hot, muggy days. I yearned for some sweetness to cut the malt a little, but there wasn’t much to be had. The beer improves mid-bottle and, with a persistent head and deep reddish brown color, is an attractive looking offering. GPyott (67), Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA

As many seem to have said, I agree on the initial metallic taste. This seems to be intentional to cover up the watery body. Not horrible, but you could do better with a frosty Blackened Voodoo.
