Excellent color, but the taste was not quite as good. It was o.k., drinkable even - just not great.

Pours turbid ruby/brown, with aromas of malt, fruit, brown sugar, caramel. The taste is the same, with a lot of flavors yet a thin palate. If Dixie could concentrate this, they’d have a top 50 beer.

Nose has some sweet malt, light herbal hops. Lemony tea. Rather flat in the flavor department - some herbal hops, slightly dusty fruity malt. Eh.

starts with a muddy water look as murky as the bayou... powerful cherry aroma that’s more subtle on the tongue than on the nose. finishes fairly mundanely but cleanly.

Medium size head, lasted with fair carbination. The nose had caramel, and was very sweet. Finished was lacking.

Slightly hazy ruby-brown body with an uneven cream head that doesnt last long. Smell is sweet malt, toffee, butterscotch, apple cider and lager hops. Taste is hop heavy, bitter burnt sugars and toasted malt. Some sweetness to keep palate in check. Some figs and plum showing. Not all that bad of a beer. There is much worse out there

This southern ale does live up to it’s crimson coloring but the voodoo is a little lacking. This ale though not bad to carries nothing to lure you back. Apparently the Big Easy went a little too easy with this one.

Very dark garnet; quite small, light tan head. Sweet malty aroma with light dark fruit. Flavor a bit lacking, though, with mostly just nondescript sweetness and malt, though the finish is slightly floral. Mildly thin; low carbonation. Not world-class, but not deserving of all the negative ratings.
