Somewhat tart & fruity. Great color & taste. A nice red ale!

Is ____ magic involved in this? Maybe, a truly beautiful beer. Smooth and tasty. (The blank is because I can’t read my drunken writing; and seeing other scores, perhaps too far gone to accurately rate).

Doclock’s review was quite on point. In the bottle, it tastes like it was watered down but would be a top 50 if concentrated. I would add one point however, on draught (which I now know of only one place in the entire world, Mulate’s Restaurant in New Orleans) it is quite different. The flavors open up and it becomes a delicious Irish red in the manner of Smithwicks, but better. As with all Dixie’s, it mystifies me why this beer isn’t widely accepted by locals. As much of a wonderful, divirse city as my hometown is, the locals en masse just don’t get fine beer flavor. When in town, go check this beer out at Mulate’s.

I loved this beer when I first had it. It left a great flavor in your mouth after a sweet beginning. Then I made the mistake of trying Blackened Voodoo. Blackened Voodoo is better and I haven’t been back to the Crimson since. It’s a good beer that blows the average one’s away.

I like the Black better, but this is a good beer in it’s own right. More full-bodied than other reddish lagers, mellowing aftertaste.

Deep mahogany with a strong woody/smoky taste. Not sweet at all, although the brief aftertaste somehow manages to be sweet. Malty & bitter. Good if you like smoked flavor, bad if you don’t.

The crimson color was nice, and the beer itself had a enjoyable slightly sweet taste, with a touch of raspberries.

Drinkable.
