Dixie Jazz Amber Light

Not sure why everyone is s**tting all over this beer; it’s not incredible but it’s certainly not terrible. Look is of a cloudy, golden color. Big puffy head. Some lace. Lots of carbonation. I will say this: there is absolutely nothing amber about the look. The aroma is lager, but not in a bad way. There is some corn but it’s gotta be at least part barley. Not amazing, not horrible. The taste has a barley-lagery flavor. A hint of wheat at the base, like that of a witbier. But far more lagery. A decent summery lager taste. The feel is a bit watery, but that’s kind of appropriate for style. Pleasant enough. An okay barley lager. Not amber at all though.

Bottle thanks Cavie. The look is clear, golden in color, with a light white head. The smell is weak, hops, malts, and ok. The taste is malts, floral, and corn.

( 12oz bottle no thanks to Cavie) Pours pale yellow with no head. Nose of corn and honey and not good. Taste is rotten/wet corn with a sweet linger, and not in a good way.

( 12 oz bottle, provided by Cavie ) Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small white head. Aroma of cardboard, plastic, and grass. Flavor of cardboard, metal, and grain. Yuck.

Bottle thanks to Cavie. Pale yellow with a white head. Nose is cream corn and not much eklse. Flavor is overly sweetened malts and very unappealing.

Bottle pours too light. Sickly, sweet aroma. Taste of scrotum juice with a hint of vanilla.

Clear, dark gold or light amber. Large, nicely retained off-white head, streaky lace. Floral hops aroma, fresh-mown hay, a bit of bread. Flavor leads with a buzz of floral hops, not much to its malts, off flavors are not overpowering but are present, just a bit of huskiness and metallicity on the finish. Thin body, somewhat dry. I had lower expectations than this. A pleasant surprise.
