| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Feb 15, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially small, frothy/fizzy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is clear dark yellow.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cereal, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), with light notes of DMS and metal.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery/syrupy texture, fizzy carbonation.
Pretty bad. Kinda sugary. Reminds me of gluten free beers...something about it doesn’t quite seem like normal beer. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Pours a slightly fogged orange amber. A crème head forms and falls. Nose seems not that clean. Flavor matches with a not so smooth ride. Just seems to lack balance or a smooth flavor. Feel is nice, but who cares. This is one that you wouldn’t miss much if you passed on it. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 2, 2008 In the bottle from HyVee CB. Pale amber in color with a medium bright white head. Starts out with a bit of a corn and boiled vegetable aroma and taste, but finishes with a distinctive toasted blast. Very thin and watery in body. I did notice that the label said "brewed by Joseph Huber Brewing Co," so at least the name lives on of this Wisconsin contract legend. iowaherkeye (1858), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 27, 2008 12oz bottle, no date. Clear honey golden with a 1/2 finger white head (tiny bubbles--almost creamy), fading to a sparse film and ring. A nice-looking head does rouse. Sweet malts dominate the aroma with a hint of green apple. There is also just a hint of wet paper. I was hoping to find some hops in the flavor, which I thought I found a hint of grassiness--not picking up on any bitterness. Moderate to high carbonation with a light body. Not too bad at all for a pale lager. 92 calories? Beats the hell out of the horror that is Miller Lite. TheBeerOrg (1578), Kentucky, USA
| 1.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 22, 2008 Pours amber with a fully receding off-white head. Aroma of caramel, cardboard, and dry wood. Taste is lightly sweet with light caramel and papery notes of oxidation. Mouthfeel is thin bodied with fizzy carbonation. I really have no clue when this beer was brewed, it had no expiration date and there were visible signs of oxidation. Thankfully the bottle was given to me by the bartender for free. hopdog (5601), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Dec 11, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a medium golden color with a large sized white head. ’Interesting’ aroma, I’m getting fruity, grapes, candle wax, toasted grains, and honey. Tastes of grains, toasted malts, and a very light fruitiness. Thin body. jcwattsrugger (5403), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 25, 2007 12 oz bottle-pours a white head and gold color. Aroma is sweet malty, bee pollen/wax? Taste is grain/sweet malty-some caramel, secondary lemon/metallic hops. Light body. OK carbonation. Thanks Joe for sharing. frankenkitty (1902), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Pours a bronze-bodied beer with dusty particulate under a quick head. Surprised to find pleasant green grapes in the aroma along with a base of wheat and (influenced by Magic_dave6’s rating below) a hint of vanilla. Tastes alot like a Fig Newton, but it also has an adjuncty, carboardy tinge and a hint of Granny Smith (... the apple, you sicko). Palate provides a light tingle in the mouth before a dry finish. Let me ease the ratings back "into the grain" with a 3.0.
