pivo (2488), Germany Jul 24, 2007 Pours like motor oil, opaque black color, big sticky frothy head. Roasted malt a-go-go. Licorice sweetness. Hop bitter, also dry espresso bitter. Big body, and it all comes together great.
harrisoni (5359), Ashford, Kent, England Oct 11, 2008 On tap at EBF 08. Black, lasting tan head. Lovely aroma of ginger biscuit, excellent choc, wow. That’s full in the mouth, great chocolate, really intense. Fullish to start with, then becomes dry. Intense arma. Really good dry malts. It’s like nothing I’ve had before. Drinking choc, with slightly stinging finish. Stunning. NosirIwont (879), Aalborg Vestby, Denmark Oct 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a greyish, light brown head. Sweetish aroma with chocolate notes. Roasted notes roaming around in the background. Dry, fruity and malty notes with a wooden touch develop as it warms. Black with an orange/beige head.
Burnt and salty with milkychocolate.
Dry cocoabitterness. MatSciGuy (261), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 27, 2008 [Bottle] Pours deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is strong dark, very roasted barley malt. Maybe a touch of smoke, but it’s subtle. Flavor matches pretty well. Nice rich palate with a perfect lingering bitterness. Quite a treat. Fin (2357), Merton, Oxfordshire, England Sep 27, 2008 Had this at the European Beer Festival Kobenhaven 13-09-08 Pours very dark brown with no head. Full on stout, nice burntness about it quite thick and oily texture, really good beer. The beers from this brewery went down very well amongst the RB crowd.
