NoiZe (947), Zeist, Netherlands May 22, 2008 Black colored brew. Roasted malts, liquorice aroma. Flavor had got roasted malts too, sweet. Nice one.
petermadsen (339), Vesterbronxxx, Denmark Oct 11, 2008 A black beer. With a light brown head. And then a sound shot of peatsmoked malt. The aroma is a blend of smoke, chocolate and coffee, with a hint of hops. The flavour isw quite heavy on the smoke, barely leaving space for the chocolate and the burned notes. A bit too one-dimensionel for me... bu11zeye (3780), Frisco, Texas, USA Oct 3, 2008 (Bottle) Pours a black body with a spare tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, soy sauce, smoke, and chocolate. Flavor of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, and peat. blutt59 (798), Dallas, Texas, USA Oct 3, 2008 bottle, 10.04.08, thanks to bu11zeye, dark coffee color with a slight head, nose is dusty dark fruits, flavor is a light smoke, whiskey and fruit, dry finish Pinball (595), Allerød, Denmark Sep 27, 2008 pours dark, dark, dark brown (but not black). in the glass - black.
aroma is roasted grains, and faint licorice. coffee, . aroma is very strong, i could smell it as a i poured and when i moved away from the glass to do something else.
flavor os roasted grains, great roast by the way - just at the edge of burnt, but not quite there (which is great). chocolate (faint), sugar (somewhere). the high flavor rating is because : roasted to perfection. no fruity flavors, chocolate and other stuff lurking below the initial impression. ilovedarkbeer (766), Dallas, Texas, USA Sep 24, 2008 Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye. Pours a dark black brown color with a small off white head. Nose is teriyaki, smoke, earth, dirt, and chocolate. Makes me think of chocolate pudding with the crushed up oreos on top and the gummy worms in it. Taste is leather, chocolate, smoke, and fresh dirt. Watery mouthfeel is this beers only real down fall. Had it been nice and thick and creamy we would be in business. Complex.
