soyorganic (130), Denver, Colorado, USA May 28, 2008 Tap at Dock st. Dark color with dark tan head. Belgian yeast smell. Unique beer with an initial Belgian yeast taste accompanied by a slight sweetness that is soon followed by a stout bitterness that takes over. Nice beer, the alcohol content was not noticeable. The_Epeeist (982), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA May 24, 2008 On tap at the brewpub. Ebony with a lacy tan head. Nose is coffee and dark chocolate. Medium body with a touch of carb. Taste is dark roast and mild grapefruit. Wonderful note of Belgian chocolate builds with a dry finish. Nice stout with just enough sweetness. My favorite DS so far. Still waiting to be wowed. JB175 (1364), Holland, Pennsylvania, USA May 19, 2008 Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is thick and roasty - Dark chocolate, earth, berries in there. Flavor is dominated by a belgian yeast/dark chocolate mix that is quite unique. Also getting some coffee, smokiness, and earthy flavors. Full bodied feel. I’m diggin this one. TomDecapolis (2482), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2008 On tap at the brew pub. Pours a deep black with a small bubbly tan head. Aroma of vanilla, earthy, cherries, nuts, smoke, Belgian yeast and some dark chocolate. Flavor of smoke, earthy, toffee, molasses, dark chocolate, some coffee notes, Belgian yeast esters. hopdog (4654), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA May 3, 2008 On tap at the Dock Street Brew Pub. Poured a deep brown color with small sized off white head. Aromas of lots of smoke (camp fire), some dark chocolate, earlthy, and a littel fruity. Tastes of smoked meats, chocoalte, roast, and fruity. If I had this one blind, I would have guessed it was a smoked beer. Not too much chocolate, but I did enjoy the smokiness.
