Pours a cloudy pale orange color with a small wispy head that sticks around. Aroma is... unique as hell to say the least. Obviously the 18% ABV comes through in the aroma with some sweet, malty, fruity notes. Flavor is massive and very complex. Sweet, malty and fruity like the aroma, very hoppy but shockingly this doesn’t taste very bitter to me. Mouthfeel is thick, chewy, syrupy and every similar adjective you can think of, but all in a good way. This stuff just oozes down your throat. This stuff is very different than what I expected, but just as good as I had hoped for nonetheless. Not for the weak of heart but should be saved for the open minded. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Light copper color with a heavy haze. Little head retention. Alcohol, and malty sweetness on the nose. Its definitely bitter but its not as bitter as I would’ve expected out of 120 IBU (the 102 IBU of Hop Stoopid seems more bitter). Its an extremely smooth bitterness and lacks the vegetable type flavor some super hopped ales have. There is a particular sweetness also. Its got an extreme amount of mouthfeel with a mediumish level of carbonation BeerGestapo (738), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Brewed in the USA.... On tap at the Brass Rail. Pours a lite orange color with an ultra thin head. Aroma has this distinct burnt plastic and model glue smell that permeates from the glass. Taste is better then the smell, burnt malts, medicine, raisins, citrus and glue. Mouthfeel is medium in body and finishes with an incredible amount of warmth that takes over your upper body. I am perplexed about this strong ale ? Not sure how people really enjoy this brew. afireinside96 (826), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Nov 10, 2009 On tap at The Brass Rail, served in a small snifter. It poured a clear dark gold color with no head. The nose was not at all what I expected. It smelled like a tube of model glue, burning plastic, bubblegum, and solvents. After smelling it I wasn’t even sure I wanted to drink it but i soldiered on. The flavor wasn’t quite as bad as the smell but certainly not what I would I call pleasant either. It tasted of toffee, citrus, and our friend model glue. The mouthfeel was thick and syrupy. I have to give them credit though that it didn’t have too much of a burn to it. After the initial shock of alcohol it was relatively smooth. I don’t think I’ll ever need to drink this one again though. dkoonce (883), People’s Republic of Athens, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Being a huge fan of 90 minute and 60 minute, I was looking forward to this one. I have to admit that this is a little bit of letdown. It’s not a bad beet, in fact, it’s damn good. But, it’s not the logical progression from 60 and 90. A think, sweet beer that doesn’t show the hops you would expect. The alcohol and sweetness dominate the hopping they tout. phillybeer28 (15), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Pours a dark orange with a tan ring of a head, sticky, chunky lacing. Aroma is sweet, sweet citrusy and fruity hops with buttery caramely malts and alcohol. A slight roasty note underneath it all. Flavour is huge. Drinks like a liqueur, molte eller plommer. Very sweet, sticky. A roasty caramel sweetness dominates the flavour, with loads and loads of juicy fruity hops struggling to balance it out. Doesn’t quite make it, as this is one sugary, sirupy brew to sip. Finishes with a solid alcohol warmth. Body is medium to thick, carbonation is sparse yet noticable. This is a massive brew, like nothing I’ve ever had before, the sweetness just makes it quite hard to drink. Glad I shared this. WVHouseofBeer (357), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 5, 2009 Updated: Nov 8, 2009This is just one of those beers where you look for greatness but end up finding something you have never experienced before. A ruby copper appearance gives way to a heavy alcohol, wet hop smell that could make one cough if unsuspecting. A honey hop flavor like the Hopslam fills the mouth with a oily feel and warmth. While slightly off for thickness with the body, I finished the glass amazed by the strength of beer and the unique flavor. CP
