EHopper (274), Minnesota, USA Sep 21, 2008 Great apple cider orange color. Citrus and plum without an alcohol aroma. There is also some kind of exotic tea smell, and a hint of deep fried fish. The flavor is of apricot and wine, brandy and carmel. Amazing hops with a dry finish, actually leaving the mouth too dry. Well worth sharing with friends as something truely unique. Dedollewaitor (3625), Odense, Denmark Sep 20, 2008 Bottle at EBF: Hazy (lovely) orange with a white creamy head. Heavy medicine, caramel, alcohol & hops. Peach, orange & mango. Smooth & oily texture. Ends dry & punchy bitter. Warmth.......Dope! jfm (1694), Holbæk, Denmark Sep 20, 2008 Nice hop aroma. Golden color with a white head. Grape body with a nice sharp hop pattern. Nice hop palate. Very nice. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Sep 20, 2008 Bottle @ EBF, 2008, Carlsberg.
Pours clear orange with almost no head. Some slight foam. Aroma is vinious, fruity, oranges and lots of hops. Nice! Super oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Flavour is impeccably balanced, considering the ABV. Very hoppy, super oranges notes and a fair malt balance with caramel dominating. Impressive and VERY powerful. BeerNeedy (60), Anchorage, Alaska, USA Sep 19, 2008 Updated: Dec 6, 2008Holy crap! Beer attempts to be hard liquor. Too much for me. Alcohol is overwhelming. I’ll stick with the 60 and 90 minute versions, thank you very much! msante79 (782), Orland Hills, Illinois, USA Sep 18, 2008 Updated: Oct 1, 200812oz bottle. Bottled on 4/16/08. Pours murky burnt orange with very small beige head. This beer is seriously scary looking. Aroma is hops, citrus, sugar and tons of booze. Flavor is sweet and syrupy with hops, citrus, sugar, honey and of course booze. Mouthfeel is syrupy but still has light carbonation. More of a super hoppy barley wine than an IPA. Very rich beer that takes brewing to the extreme. I would like to try a bottle with a couple years of age on it because this fucker is hot. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA Sep 18, 2008 Hazy orange pour with a half-inch beige head. Sugary sweetmalt aroma wit hsome citrusy hops. Flavor is incredibly rich and far less bitter than I had imagined: orange zest with a sweet honey character. Hardly recognizable as an IPA ... more like a well-hopped barley wine. Very complex and rich. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Sep 18, 2008 [EBF @ Copenhagen, September 2008] Once again thanks to Danish Beerhouse for bringing this to Denmark. What a complex and heavy beer, this is quite extreme. Large creamy beige head that really lasted. Excellent display of lacework. Somewhat clear amber color. Surprisingly subtly hoppy nose – apricot, grapefruit, citrus, with biscuit, roasted malt, caramel, hint of fruit. Over the palate came heavy thick hops combined with the malty base and 21% alcohol. The alcohol was not as dominating as first expected. Very full boded with an average carbonation and thick, alcoholic almost syrup like texture. Heavy sweet and bitter flavor but well balanced. Lingering floral bitterness and again is well balanced with heavy sweetness. Excellent, this beer is a real pearl.
