Aroma is fruit, piney hops, and sweet. Overwhelming sweet fruit that is suddenly slashed by chewy hops. Finish lingers on the lips and tongue. A true hop bomb! bitbucket (2034), Kirkland, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 18, 2006 Bottled. Pours a clear copper until I hit the hazy trub at the bottom of the bottle. Massive and massively lacy white head. Aroma of caramel, malt and citrus. Full body with light carbonation. Sweet taste of citrus, fruit, nuts, pine and pineapple in the taste. I’ve had some big IIPAs but this is bigger still – definitely a ’sippin’ IPA. Pricey, but this is a repeater for sure! patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 3, 2006 Pours copper and slightly murky. The haze clears up quickly. There’s almost no head. The aroma is hops and alcohol. The hops is there, but not as strong of an aroma as I expected given 30 days of dry hopping. The flavor is intense with a full body provided by mountains of malt. The hops is definitely there, though it’s not as overpowering as I expected. The malt and alcohol seem to have buried the hops enough that honestly I thought 90 minute had more intense hops. The finish is long and bitter with a lingering warmth in the throat from that 21% abv. I enjoyed this "extreme" beer, but I think the experiment that is 120 Minute IPA was pushed a little too far. Some more typical double IPA style brews like Dogfish Head 90 Minute and Great Divide Hercules are better. charlotte (2032), Vanløse, Denmark

| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Aug 14, 2003 Practically overwhelming aroma of white grape, pineapple, raisin, apple, sugar, spice (and everything nice), yeast fruitiness, hops, and oh yes, definite alcohol. Gorgeous, brilliant, clear orange-amber color, with an initially creamy, moderately foamy head; however, this unsurprisingly subsided after a good hour or so in the glass. Flavor follows the aroma gratifyingly closely, syrupy, resinous, hoppy and alcoholic, with notes of pine and various citrus fruits. Fiery and expressive. Astounding. Practically defies description. Obviously, the 750 is not meant to be consumed alone, this is one for sharing with those who might appreciate it. Angeloregon (2025), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Aug 18, 2007 deep amber beer with a big-bubbled whtie head. Nose of extreme hops and malts. Cloying, sweet, and extremely hoppy. Not as bitter as I thought it would be. Thick, viscous finish with a very complex liqueur texture. Awesome beer! sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 13, 2005 The 120 has been kind of the Holy Grail for me on my beer "odessy" if you will. My first great beer was the DFH 90 minute, and upon sampling the 60 and then finding out about the 120, it has been my goal to eventually get my hands on this brew. Well it took a while, about 2 years actually, but thanks to this site and mkgrenwell I finally got a few bottles of this.
Pours an orange/copper color with a nice head. Good hop aroma, with the alcohol ever present. The flavor is really something, the hops are there, but the insane ABV really keeps them in check with a sweet malty alcohol flavor, that is just as strong as all the intense hoppiness of the brew. It’s really a testament to this beer for the hops to come through at all, something with the ABV of a cheap supermarket vodka shoudn’t be this easy drinking and flavorful.
Not my favorite beer of all time by any means, but damn was it worth the wait. And I can certainly see how it would improve with age. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 9, 2008 On tap at a top secret location in town. Pours amber with no lasting head. Smell is alcohol 1st and then some syrupy sweetness. Not even getting any hops out of it. Taste is warming sweet alcohol. Hops are noticeable but mild compared to the heat and intense sweetness. Too sweet for a DIPA, yet drinkable, I suppose, for how strong it is. I’ll try it again someday but this didn’t excite me, like most of their beers.
