| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 23, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle from Spec’s in Houston. An awesome red brown colour thin tan rim. Heavy plastic and rubber, some soy, molasses and dark fruit. Massive alcohol though it’s hard to tell it actually is alcohol when it gets to this strength rather than it being some mad pungent fruit like you have never experienced. Massive sugary alcohol. It’s just all over powered by the stuff. All mouth no trousers. Impressive but I just can’t enjoy drinking it. There is a lot I like about it, it’s just not going down well and the huge hops and bitterness I was expecting is almost completely overpowered by the alcohol. thewolf (5836), Kolding, Denmark

Pours clear orange with almost no head. Some slight foam. Aroma is vinious, fruity, oranges and lots of hops. Nice! Super oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Flavour is impeccably balanced, considering the ABV. Very hoppy, super oranges notes and a fair malt balance with caramel dominating. Impressive and VERY powerful. bu11zeye (5675), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 11, 2004 Hazy amber color with virtually no head. Spicey, sweet smells with hints of citris. How to describe the taste. Sweet start, hints of spices, then grapefruit and finishes slightly bitter. Syrupy body. Not what I was expecting (sweeter and less bitter) but not bad. jcwattsrugger (5581), Florida and, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is hops, sweet, alcohol similar to scotch. Taste is oily & a dry mouthfeel. Sweet taste with a warm alcohol feel. Best 2IPA I recall having, but prefer good IPA’s better. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 9, 2004 Surprisingly very clear light amber without much head, but still a considerable sticky white ring. Deep alcohol heat hits the nose and supervises a very malty base, extremely sweet, caramelic and fruity, it made me think of pale molasses if it existed. Huge hop profile is mostly floral and grassy. Fatiguing sweet alcoholic palate, burning like a strong scotch when you keep it in mouth a minute or 2. Made me think of a sunny day, floral and skin burning. Very bold, yet pretty clean. Huge creamy body with smooth carbonation. Interesting, but ultimately not very enjoyable to me. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 19, 2007 Updated: Apr 9, 2008Bottle 2003, 4yrs old, i am in debt to a new level to matt for this one, at the time i said it was the best beer iv ver had, and it was the finest masterpiece of all time, however i’ll need another to give it a 5. Aroma is heavily aged, like a 20yr old thomas hardy, but theres some hops trying there best to balance and give a perfect harmony of sweetness, sherry and yee haa high 5ness. Taste is like sitting at the top of that hill you like in the sun with the breeze blowing blowing perfectly so you dont over heat on the grass which is the perfect length and your finest lass holding your hand. This kisses your neck when it should, makes you feel tingly. I mean what does this not have, its the best beer iv had this year, this decade, this beat rochefort, this beat belle-vue selection lambic, this cannot be beaten. RERATE : Same score. The best aged beer/barley wine/big bold bastard of a thing to have ever been made.
