Commercial Description:
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

12 oz bottle bottled Dec 2006- Full body, thick feel, beautiful copper color with soft carbonation - just right. Obvious alcohol taste and aroma, but not overpowering. Almost a liquorice flavor at times. Savor this one, takes a long time to finish, good choice to share!

this is by far my favorite of the dogfish brewery, the smell is hops all the way and the flavor is very sweet and bitter from the hops, just perfect for people who love hops. i will pay the $10 a bottle price all day any day for this.

I just finished my third 120 minute IPA. I love this beer. I can’t buy it in Georgia due to beer laws, so everytime I go out of town, I bring one back. The aroma is very strong of alcohol, but the malts and hops hide the alcohol in the taste. Taste of pine, caramel, slight citrus. This is definitely a special occasion beer. I wish I had more excuses to drink this beer.

Bottle. A clear dark orange beer with a small beige head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by alcohol but also with notes of caramel and portwine. The flavor is very sweet, but to my suprise not with much hops in the flavor just a hoppy dryness in the end. The alcohol is very present in the flavor - so much, that it almost burns your tongue. Not at all what I expected, but an extremely good beer.

This beer is a serious kick in the mouth, extremely hoppy while still very malty. You can really taste the alcohol in this one, that makes this beer a sipper for sure, and after a few glass you are already feeling it, hell ya! Thick and syrupy, small white head, overpowering hop aroma and flavor. This beer sits on your paIate until you do something to clear it, very lingering aftertatse. I like extreme and over the top.

This monster destroys your mouth from the very first drink. Aroma was, you guessed it, very hoppy. Pours a very hazy gold color with a mild head. Very easy to drink. Well balanced.

On tap @Papago Brewing. I’ve had many bottles before, but on tap this is even better. Pours a hazy dark yellow to almost brownis red with a small white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, yeast, malt and alcohol. Lots of malt sweetness balance out the hop bitterness in this one and in the end this ends up being a fantastic brew. Reminds me a lot of a barlewine, only bigger despite being classified as an IIPA. Big beer, but very well done DFH.

Damn 20% later and I’m feeling great! On tap at Sierra last november. Dark syrup heavy nose like your gonna have a cordial. Tons of hop and flavor plus a great balance make this worthy of aging a long time.
