Definitely has some hotness. Amazing aroma and flavor. The flavor is of spicy and citrusy hops, it hits you all over and fills you mouth and nose. Smells like handful of hops as you crush them in your hands. Amazing hop and resin notes. Definitely a sipping beer but a sipping beer i could drink every day. Skeegle (496), Maryland, USA

When you first sip the beer, it hits you with its sweetness, and then as you swallow, the alcohol gets you, and as you exhale with an empty mouth, the hops bite hard. A great beer, and if you’ve never had a 20+%er, then this is a fantastic beer to experience! mcox90 (646), Wilton, USA

Nose is heavy sweetness and dark fruity aromas, quite complex. Nice full, thick, chewy palate with just a touch of carbonation. Now to try and discuss the flavors. Just about everythings in here. Brown sugar, caramel, plums, dates, figs, hops, and of coarse, alcohol. This really wasn’t the hop bomb I expected it to be. Maybe its because I let it age for a year. If I ever get another one, I’ll drink it fresh, then again, maybe I’ll let it age 5 years. neredneck (7), New Hampshire, USA does not count | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Cornicopia of aroma and taste that assaulted the palate and surerndered to the tastebuds of hop utopia that only Ayn Rand could of understood (who is dogfish 120)? djd07 (747), Houston, Texas, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Oct 18, 2007 Bottle as shown. Pours a cloudy dark amber color with a small white head. The aroma is very hoppy with sweet malts. Very good lacing on this one. The taste is sweet hops and a bitter finish, hides the alcohol VERY well. This is an amazing double IPA, for 21% and this good definitely worth the pricetag. grandet (486), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA

The warming of the alchol is great for cold winter nights and the sweetness is perfect anytime. BMan1113VR (2894), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Goodman Companies (DFH distributor for Dallas) for helping me find a case as soon as it got in (this stuff is next to impossible to find in Dallas). Heavenly hoppy aroma. Pours an opaque orange to light brown hue with a creamy off-white head with excellent retention and amazing lacing (although its little brother, the 90 minute, has better lacing, but not by much). Taste is extremely sweet up front with a nice bitter finish. It is really really hard to believe there is that much alcohol in my glass. It is suprisingly easy to drink. The only hint you get is that your stomach starts to feel warm about 2 minutes after you drink it. Mouthfeel was syrupy and just a bit of tingling carbonation. Amazing beer although very very expensive ($32.99 for two 12 oz bottles). Was worth the buy, but I feel the 90 is a much better value. Floback (335), Naples, Florida, USA

Color is tanned-leather brown. 2cm of white, brownish head with tan rims. Good lacing. Nose is dark fruits, malt, caramel, and strong hoppy vegetation. Robust and exuberant, the flavor is a kick in the teeth, due to the enormous hop count and high gravity. I detected flavors of roasted caramel, piney hops, heavy alcohol, and starfruit. Aftertastes of caramel and toffee. Nice, balanced carbonation. I can feel the enormous octane almost immediately. This brew is not for the faint-of-heart, and should be drank accordingly. Awesome brew.
