The warming of the alchol is great for cold winter nights and the sweetness is perfect anytime. BMan1113VR (2956), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Goodman Companies (DFH distributor for Dallas) for helping me find a case as soon as it got in (this stuff is next to impossible to find in Dallas). Heavenly hoppy aroma. Pours an opaque orange to light brown hue with a creamy off-white head with excellent retention and amazing lacing (although its little brother, the 90 minute, has better lacing, but not by much). Taste is extremely sweet up front with a nice bitter finish. It is really really hard to believe there is that much alcohol in my glass. It is suprisingly easy to drink. The only hint you get is that your stomach starts to feel warm about 2 minutes after you drink it. Mouthfeel was syrupy and just a bit of tingling carbonation. Amazing beer although very very expensive ($32.99 for two 12 oz bottles). Was worth the buy, but I feel the 90 is a much better value. Floback (339), Naples, Florida, USA

Color is tanned-leather brown. 2cm of white, brownish head with tan rims. Good lacing. Nose is dark fruits, malt, caramel, and strong hoppy vegetation. Robust and exuberant, the flavor is a kick in the teeth, due to the enormous hop count and high gravity. I detected flavors of roasted caramel, piney hops, heavy alcohol, and starfruit. Aftertastes of caramel and toffee. Nice, balanced carbonation. I can feel the enormous octane almost immediately. This brew is not for the faint-of-heart, and should be drank accordingly. Awesome brew. ewestern (198), Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jul 25, 2008 Aroma is sweet and hoppy. Pour is a hazy almost orange color. The alcohol is well hidden by the sweetness coming around mid-taste so as not to leave to strong a flavor in the mouth. Smooth and easy to drink, one of my favorites. jdp (54), Texas, USA

Very malty smell and with floral overtones. This beer is one of my favorites. Nice sweet malt with fantastic hops. Very rich and almost syrupy sweet but the hop bite rounds it out so well. I could drink this all the time if it were available. charcot25 (181), Cordova, Tennessee, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Pours a light amber with slight white head. Aroma is just like putting your nose in a bag of fresh hops! Has notes of strong citrus (grapefruit, orange, mango) and pine as well as a significant malt presence. The alcohol is noticable and hot, but not harsh. There are also some spicy notes (black pepper and cardamom along with some mint). Finishes remarkably dry despite the alcohol content. Not excessively bitter, but truly the hoppiest beer I have ever had! Proprietor also had 03, 05, and 06 vintages available. Will review the 2005 later. Extremely floral, sweet aroma. Mouthfeel and taste indicate its crossection of the barleywine and ipa styles; it is caramelly sweet and heavy but with the herbal astringency of hops. As other reviewers have remarked, the ridiculous amounts of alcohol and hops are balanced by a sweetness the extreme surfeit of which is simply necessary to achieve this balance. Highly recommended for its uniqueness and, surprisingly, its sense of equanimity. trayns (242), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA

Forget what you though of beer when your try this. The aroma and consistency was unlike anything you have had. Think a big, strong imperial stout but blonde and golden, and of course hoppy. One beer that should be on everyones beer bucket list . . a must try.
