Commercial Description:
Too extreme to be called beer? Brewed to a colossal 45°P, boiled for a full 2 hours while being continually hopped with high alpha American hops, dry-hopped every day in the fermenter for a month, and aged for a month on whole leaf hops, 120 Minute IPA is by far the strongest IPA ever brewed. And at 21% ABV and 120 IBU’s, you can see why we are calling this the Holy Grail for Hopheads. Editors note: ABV reduced down to 18% in 2009.

this was overpowering. Very strong flavor and very good. I was expecting greatness but I got good. extra points for the heavy alc. content. but it was just a little to strong. I’m not sure if it was the intense ibu’s or the ultra high alc, but it still managed to finish very nice. Worth the price - $8 for 12oz. bottle

This is one of those beers that is really difficult to rate. It is done well, but it is still difficult to put down a whole bottle. As everyone says, it’s syrupy, sticky and sweet. The really strange thing is that the hops actually provide some balance. They give a bit of a pine flavor, but not much else. They hang in the background and keep the intense syrupy sweetness from actually becoming cloying. With so much of everything in here, nothing really stands out and impresses. The best thing I can say about this is how well the alcohol is hidden. There is pretty much no alcohol flavor at all. You can just feel it after you swallow. Now that I think about it, this would make a good dessert drink. It holds up with a port or grappa. Now that I look at it that way, I love it. Can we just add a liqeur category, because this is not an IIPA.

A whiff of hoppy aroma fills the room as you pop the cap. Your are teleported into a pine forest. A hazy brown beer that does not impress at first sight, but as you lift the glass, it punches you in the nose. Badass hoppy bitterness combined with full sweet malt. Amazing.

Bottle at home ... Deep copper/ruby ... sweet rich malty and hop resins ... sweet malty with a pine hop back bone ... packed full and a wonderfull flavour... but it burns the toungue a bit and its alcohol shows way too much... tasted along side the Hopslam ... for me the flavour if more interesting but its let down by being a bit rough... Though the burn grows on you with time, more and more as i get into this. This is a WOW beer

Vintage 2003. 12oz bottle. Deep copper color. Creamy foamy head. Alcohol rings floating on the glass. Aroma of floral hops and HEAVY caramel. Sugary sweet. Liquid cotton candy. Simple syrup flavors. HUGH malts. Heavy bitterness in the oily, alcoholic, malt monster finish brings somewhat of a balance to this $8 monster. Alcohol is suprisingly hidden in the... well in the flavor through the finish. Well now it is kicking in. I can’t feel my cheeks! Hell yes!! Happy 31st Mattie.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

2006 12 oz. bottle. very hoppy and very sweet, but nicely balanced. The alcohol is very well hidden, considering the ridiculous level, and the hoppy finish is really, really long. Not for everyone, but I found this to be pretty damn good.
