The aroma, appearance and flavor was the best I’ve ever experienced, in the hop catagory. The only reason I gave the Palate a 4 is because my palate was obviously completely overwhelmed, which is to be expected, never the less, I love this great strong ale. bedainedebiere (288), Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada
| 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Updated: May 9, 2009I thought this would be hellish so that’s why I wanted the 90 Minute, but the owner of the Perfect Pour got this one out for my helpful but a little beer-ignorant brother; 3 x 9,99$ per bottle, what did he have to lose?... First, the beer is almost orange, very opaque with hop particules, white and green. The aroma is like strong glue (!) and caramel, very alchoolic; don’t smell it to much it might be headacheful. Once used to it, it is pleasing. The taste is refreshing (even at 21% ABV), a little tongue-tingling, a lot of grapefruit hop bitterness, obvious notes of sweetness and I would say that the taste of alchool varies with the size of the sip you take: big sip, big alchool taste, small sip... A sipper it is. In fact, it seems that each sip tastes a little different than the other. Although I wasn’t sure at first, I now think it is one of the most delicious beverage I ever had. It is incredibly powerful and tasty. As for those civilisation-threatening nuclear weapons, this is an american weapon of mass destruction... A quality one, not like a... I’ll shut up so this gets on the site... Extreme madness bomb of a beer for sure! The third one I’m having rewriting those lines is leaving me speechless... Let’s talk in numbers since it numbs me heheheh ? hehe ajwilliams (118), , Indiana, USA

The aroma is citrus, hops (duh), caramel, fresh flowers, lots of other notes. Flavor is unbelievably balanced for all the hops. Very sweet, but not it the too-much-alcohol kind of way, and also creamy. I am surprised by this one. I have been letting it sit in my fridge for a few weeks because I was afraid of it, but it is actually really tasty. I bought it for the novelty, but I will pay that 7 bucks again for the greatness of this brew. Does it age? I will find out. NJBeerman013 (782), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Oct 3, 2004 In one word ’wow’!! It better be for paying $12 a bottle. I never thought I could like an IPA this much. 120 Minute has all the hoppy-maltiness of an IPA, but a huge amount of sweetness to go along with it. I was extremely - pleasantly suprised that there was no alcohol detedted in the flavor with the beer sporting a 20% abv. rating. If you are a strong beer lover, go get yourself some, but save a share for me... roder60 (1027), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Updated: Nov 20, 2005Pours a nice hazy bright orange color with a perfect amount of foamy white head and lots of bubbles up the sides. Aroma is a nice sweet mellow citrus/hop smell with a bit of an alcohol undertone. Flavor is very sweet to start, then you are hit with a hoppy bitter taste and finish. Really covers the 21% abv bigtime. Tastes more like an 8 or 9%. Mouthfeel is very heavy and almost syrupy. Overall, Im a fan. tupalev (2617), Waterloo, Ontario, Canada
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Dec 12, 2005 Bottle graciously shared by Hogtown Harry with Blankboy and GregClow. I was just flipping though some other ratings of this - why in the world are people so hung up on style here? BarleyWine, Double IPA, I don’t care, all I know is that this is a beer that I have been waiting to try for some time. I was a little cautious, as the World Wide Stout was massively disappointing, all alcohol and nothing else. So I sipped this with the aforementioned caution. First off, it looks amazing. Dark intense orange, lots of streaming bubbles, thick foamy white head - I can’t see a beer like this looking any better, so 5 there. The aroma- wow, it is actually quite mild! At 21% and these hops, I had insulated my nose hairs in case of fire, but it isn’t there. What is there is a mild hop aroma with tons of bready malt - it smells formidable, but there really isn’t any alcohol to speak of. The taste: WOW. I never thought I would use the word balanced to describe a 21% hopped all to hell beer, but here you go - it is remarkably balanced (more so than their 90 Minute I would argue). I get lots of hops, more really bread like malt, and alcohol for sure, but maybe more like an 8-10% beer - this is remarkably restrained. More importantly, it is the most balanced big Double IPA I have ever had. Medium silky mouthfeel. A nice sweet fruitiness in the background as well. Way more accessible than the World Wide Stout, this is truly heaven in a glass. Thank you Harry for sharing this. 120 Minute: Welcome to my Top 10. mrhooha (4), Austin, Texas, USA does not count | 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jan 3, 2005 Wow, I really liked this beer. Cloudy copper color, very small off-white head, didn’t last long. Nose is slightly floral, but the smell isn’t overpowering. Surprisingly sweet flavor in the beginning balances out the hops nicely. I expected a bigger hop flavor, but I think what its got is really perfect. Sticky on my lips, nice thick mouthfeel, like sweet crude. Alcohol is present, but not overpowering like in some other beers I’ve tried with less alcohol.
