Hudspart (317), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA Sep 1, 2007 Bottle: Great hoppy aroma. Almost no head. However, this is just undrinkable. I hate to plagiarize, but this hits it on the head:
"This beer was downright offensive. The color was like a slightly lighter, browner applejuice. No head at all, which isn’t surprising. Aroma was hops, hops, hops...and a little alcohol. The beer tasted like an overly sweet (sickly sweet) barleywine, with a disgusting amount of alcohol taste. No hop bitterness, which was surprising. I couldn’t take even the smallest sip without the entire top half of my body shuddering...Never again." Goodgrief 8/19/07
I could not have said it better
greenhorn1 (370), Eugene, Oregon, USA Sep 5, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a very cloudy copper with a thin whispy head. So where do I begin, this is one big beer. Aroma of alcohol and citrus. Flavor is citrus, alcohol, and very sweet. I guess I gotta give props for making a somewhat drinkable beer at 21%, but it is almost too much. musher (5), Delaware, Ohio, USA does not count Sep 5, 2008 Almost undrinkable. Actually completely undrinkable. Incredibly syrupy like drinking corn syrup. No hop aroma whatsoever. Taste is not pleasant at all. A complete novelty in mm opinion. Where are all the hops? Don’t waste your money! AgentSteve (784), Livermore, California, USA Sep 5, 2008 Pours medium copper with no head. The nose is powerful pineapple and floral hops. The flavor goes overripe pineapple juice, honey and apricot. Viscous on the palate, and HOT! kappldav123 (997), Markkleeberg, Germany Sep 5, 2008 The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Very complex aroma, velvet and alcohol. Tastes modest velvety, then intense hoppy and strong alcoholic, very intense. Very scratchy finish. Great experience!
Thanks to jjpm74 for that bottle! dwaggs2 (93), Warrensburg, Missouri, USA Aug 31, 2008 Bottle. Pours an orange color with a faint white head. Leaves some lacing on the side of this glass. Aroma is hoppy and alcohol. Flavor is sweet, fruit, citrus, alcohol and grass. This beer warms you up as you drink it. Not as hoppy as I thought it would be but good never the less
