Huge aroma, full of citrus hop character with some very rich malt sweetness. Very rich in the mouth with quite a bit of sweetness, the alcohol is evident with loads of hop flavour too. Just a real viscous mouthfeel, unlike anything I’ve had before. I got a buzz from this beer almost straight away and after I’d finished it I could certainly feel the affects. Amazing beer, this review doesn’t do it justice by an means. BroSpud (603), , Massachusetts, USA

One of my favorite beers of all time is the 90 minute IPA so I figured the 120 minute would be that much better. Unfortunately this one is just too much for me. Kicked my *ss actually. Overall I found it to be too sweet and way too much alcohol to be enjoyable in the same way as the 90 minute. It was fun to try but I think it went 30 minutes too far. radioseer (46), Virginia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 1, 2009 ྫྷ ounce bottle - pint glass) Pours a reddish brown color, has little head. I don’t really understand why the call it the holy grail of hopheads because it is more malty and sweet than hoppy. Taste is a little boozy. Can also taste chocolate and coffee notes. Thick oily mouthfeel. I liked it alot but it cost me $10 for a 12 ounce bottle. gkao007 (28), Jersey City, New Jersey, USA

If there is an element of flaw, it would be that its too damn sweet. I understand it’s super high in alcohol, but the sweetness makes it very difficult to pair with light vibrant dishes. Luckily the fall and winter seasons are just coming along. wingman333 (242), San Antonio, Texas, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Ahhh... Found it! Very floral aroma, probably the hops. Predominant taste of orange, but more in the form of Cointreau or Grand Marnier. Tastes a lot like a Sidecar, but fizzy. Sweet syrupy texture upon the tongue. Aftertaste of hops and orange rind. Like a combination of an imperial IPA and a Barleywine, my two favorite styles. I’m so glad I actually scored two of these; I’m going to save the other and re-rate. dimenhetfield (190), , Florida, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Nov 21, 2009 The King of IPA’s in my opinion. It’s scary BIG. The color is beautiful, dark gold and brown with off white foam head. The aroma is earthy and extremely hoppy. The taste is rather sweet and bitter. A sipping beer. The ABV is too big to take a full gulp. killjoy966 (220), Washington, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Nov 20, 2009 Whoo, Lordy! This is one big beer for such a small bottle. Aroma is all floral hops out of the bottle but that changes as soon as it’s poured into the glass. Now it’s all sweet and malty and biscuity. Says it’s an IPA, but tastes more like a barleywine (and a young one at that.) Alcohol is definitely there, but not overpowering. Seems almost to big to take in at one sitting. Wish this one wasn’t so rare so I could give it another go ’round. madmitch76 (619), , Essex, England

Doesn’t actually feel the hop agressive. More like a barleywine. Bitter orange undertone. Smooth finish with a spirity warmth. Different and not what I was expecting!
