Poured from bottle into Pint Glass. Pours a nice golden amber with a great one inch white frothy head that dissipates into a fine layer atop the glass. As you drink this it leaves a nice lacing along the glass. Not much of an aroma on this but picked up some slight floral hints and a bit of caramel. Taste is very nice, citrusy with caramel flavors with some lingering light bitterness. This is a medium-bodied beer with a fresh crispness. Very nice beer.

“Off-centered ales for off-centered people.”

Make no doubt about the Dogfish Head creed; they mean it. As a result, Sam Calagione and Dogfish have pushed the brewing boundary from day one and the Extreme Train hasn’t stopped chugging since. Love them or hate them, there is no doubt that what Dogfish does, very few have ever tried and/or succeeded at.

Sparkling orange with burnt amber and copper highlights, her beauty is a beacon of light shining through the darkness of boring, bland beers. A crowning jewel of a head tops her livery in cottony white while trails of lace decorate her person. Up to this point, I have only savored their 90 Minute IPA so I was unsure what to expect of her nose. Thankfully, I was pleasantly surprised. Breathing deep her floral nose are lavender and fresh spring pollen tinged with honey. Rounding out her full yet delicate nose are orange juice, pulp, sweet pink grapefruit, lemon, and wet, freshly cut summer grass. Enveloped in her wonderful aromas, I delve into the awaiting brew which is clean, crisp, and vivifying. Lemon and grass tingle on top of my tongue while soft honey infused with flowers and herbs coats my cheeks and tongue. Further in, faint tropical notes of melon and kiwi sweeten the party while a delicious array of sweet summer grass, lemon, lavender, pollen, and honey continue their chorus of perfect quaffabiility. As I quickly near the end of my glass, some crunchy bread crust rounds out the picture, and as the last drop touches my lips, I go to my fridge and grab another.

Yes, Kristyn, Dogfish Head really does make a session beer. I have had a good majority of their beers and many a session IPA over the last few years; hands down, their 60 Minute IPA is one of the best and easily one of my favorite. For the hops novice, it also makes an excellent introduction to said beer style.

Appearance is a cloudy amber with a chalk-white head that holds up well and leaves an excellent lace. The smell is like a bouquet of flowers particularly roses and daisies. Strong dry hop and grassy aromas as well. Very bitter like an excellent IPA; some very light malt flavors. The lingering aftertaste is like sucking on a hop pellet. Heavily carbonated which helps cut the strong hop bite a little. As a hop head, this is a beer I can enjoy. If you shy away from heavily hopped beers, shy away from this one as it is nearly all bitter hop.

Draft pours golden colors with fluffy white head. Grassy hop aroma and light hop bitterness for an IPA. Off flavors, maybe infection. Light in body with a caramel backbone. Not what I remembered and more of an APA than IPA.

Pours a burnt orange color. Lots of carbonation. Smell of hops and citrus on the lighter side. Soft texture. Spicy menthol like finish. Overall an above average IPA.

Clear gold pour with a foamy white head and nice lacing. Aroma of floral hops, pine, light caramel, quite pleasant. Flavor was floral hops, aroma, nice bitter astringency.
