The aroma is pure grapefruit. Citrus hops, orangepeel.
The taste is sweet and malty at first. This turns into a refreshing bitter citrus hop character. Orange, grapefruit floral hops. The finish is bitter and the aftertaste is also bitter. Good depth of flavour. Mouthfeel is medium bodied and the carbonation is medium soft. Im happy its not too carbonated.
Highly drinkable, and more balanced than I expected.

I didn’t really like the hop character at first, but I like it better and better. I think it’s the hop varieties, not the continuous addition that i’m not fond of. And I think I like it better from the bottle than the tap. StinkBall (74), Asheville, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Aroma is a sharp earthy, hoppiness almost a sour bitterness to the smell. Color is a nice golden amber with a two-finger white head with plenty of carbonation present. Oily, full-bodied mouthfeel. Flavor is almost a burnt maltiness with plenty of hops present. Has a long finish. This is an ok beer but not one I would drink on a regular basis. hayduke (1662), Eureka, California, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 20, 2009 Courtesy of Joe McPhee. This poured a clear amber with a nice white head that had good retention and left excellent lacing. The nose is is citrus and floral hops. Solid mouthfeel and very smooth on the tongue. The flavor is rich with good balance between the hops and malts. Very well balanced. The finish is long and bitter. A superb IPA. RickTStiles (45), New York, USA

Aroma is sweet hops and melon. Taste is rich and somewhat complex with strong but not terribly agressive hops. Very well balanced. Some fruit juice in the body as well. Finishes bitter with a tinge of sweetness. Great IPA! waltersrj (48), Washington, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 15, 2009 The pour is a light amber color with medium amounts of lacing. The nose is pine, citrus, some caramel, and lemon. The taste is quite similar with a little added amount of malty sweetness. The body is medium-light and very refreshing. A great brew! Beautiful color, medium body. One of the best IPAs out there without a doubt. Doesn’t get much better my friends. DenisLD (20), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 11, 2009 Pours a clear amber body, with some lively carbonation and a frothy white head. Good lacing and okay head retention. Smells of floral fresh pine-like hops, some strong biscuit-type maltiness, and hints of caramel. The taste starts with a nice strong hop bite, with some bitterness, notes of pine and citrus (orange and lemon zest), followed by some nice caramel sweetness. Light-to-medium bodied and easy-drinking. Some crisp carbonation. The finish is moderately dry and bitter and a bit bready. One of the best American IPA’s i’ve had to date. Highly recommended!
