Commercial Description:
Johnny Cask has entered the building! We’ve retrofitted a 15 barrel tank to perfectly produce a very special cask conditioned ale (so, we have a little time to play around during winters at the Delaware coast). This beer, known as Dogfish Head 75 Minute IPA is a blend of 60 and 90 Minute IPAs with a special whole leaf cascade dry-hopping session. Post-hopping the beer gest transferred into firkins and dosed with fresh yeast and maple syrup from the ole family homestead (actually the first batch will be re-fermented with maple syrup from the farm up the road from ours since ours won’t be ready until late March.

Only the ratings for single-cask pours of this should be rated. The 50/50 blends of 60 and 90 where they come from different taps are not rateable, and do not belong here.

Cask from the Rehoboth Beach brewpub on July 23. Orange/yellow color, nice citrus aroma. Very smooth/thick mouthfeel due to cask. Good lacing on the glass. Great balance of malt and hops. Tastes more like the 90 rather than the 60 but doesn’t quite pack the same punch of alcohol. Would like to get back to have some more. Very drinkable, but not too many! Great name and even better sign.

On tap at DFH Alehouse, Falls Church. This was a rich, full-bodied & creamy bear. Beautiful head, champagne bubbles drifing up. The beer takes on all the best characteristics of the 90 minute, but the drinkability of the 60 minute (another "dangerously drinkable", with high ABV). Strongly lemon-peel hoppy clean aftertaste, with the glorious scent of fresh hay & sweet hops. Fantastic.

Enjoyed this very much on my last trip to DE at the Rehoboth beach brew pub. It’s a great beer and sweet to the taste the maple syrup shines through. Orange in color was a great sweet head. Very smooth and crisp. Great beer.

My favorite all time IPA, the Alehouse 75 is a 50/50 blend of Dogfish Head 60 minute and 90 minute IPAs, and is a very nice pour. Any time I’m at the alehouse with friends, I recommend it.

Draft pours a slightly hazy golden color with a creamy thick head. That head lasts and lasts. Aroma of sweet fruits, pine and citrus. A bit of earthiness in there too. Nice bittereness followed by a nice sweet fruitiness. The bitterness matched the aroma. The mouthfeel was amazing. So smooth but nicely bittered. What a nice beer and I am not one to toot the horn of DFH, but well done.

Hand pump at Rehoboth... Pumped into a regular pint glass, monster cascading head that took a couple minutes to settle. Nice orange color. Fresh hop aroma, that reminded me of the sixty minute. Taste is nice.... lots of fresh hops, not that bitter though. I can pick up a little of the 60 and 90 minute characteristics. Super smooth creamy texture. I love the beer at this warmer tempture (55F). Light and really easy to drink, I could of had finished the tank if they let me. Great beer, that is worth the drive. I cant wait to have another one.

Cask tapping, Deep Ellum Allston, MA. Wow, this stuff is really tasty. It has the residual sweetness from the 90 minute plus some from the syrup - and yet isn’t cloying. It has a palpable hop presence - and yet isn’t overwhelming. First and foremost I would say that this is a superbly balanced beer, with malt and hops playing significant roles in the flavor - not an easy thing to do.

Cask at the Rehoboth brewpub. Hazed orange amber with a big off white head that descends rockily. Very floral and grapefruit citrus nose, some caramel underneath. Resiny citrus flavor, not getting any of this maple that is supposed to be in it. Once I become accustomed to the citrus, a sweet caramel flavor emerges. Body is on the high side of medium, excellent webby lacing. I tried hard not to compare this to the 60 and 90, but it is inevitable - I like it a lot, striking the midway from the lighter 60 without the thick chewy 90 body. Good shit!
