Commercial Description:
Esquire Magazine calls our 90 Minute I.I.PA., "perhaps the best I.P.A. in America." An Imperial I.P.A. brewed to be savored from a snifter. A big beer with a great malt backbone that stands up to the extreme hopping rate. This beer is an excellent candidate for use with Randall The Enamel Animal! 90 ibu
Tasting Notes: Brandied fruitcake, raisiney, citrusy.
Food Pairing recommendations: Pork chops, beef, grilled fish, frites, focaccia, split pea soup, Stilton cheese & escargot.
Glassware recommendation: Snifter
Wine comparable: Sauvignon Blanc

Bottle. Hazy orange colour with an off-white head. Aroma: Mostly sweet and malty actually, notes of tosted bread, spicy hops, caramel, toffee, rosted sesam seeds. Taste: Also very malty, but with a bitter finish. Notes of spicy hops, citrus, caramel, roasted sesam seeds, nuts, alcohol. A bit too sticky and alcoholic for my liking. Full bodied. Very malt dominated for a Double IPA. Maybe this bottle was a bit old?

12oz bottle. It has been a week of some very BIG IIPA’s. This one is certainly great but very different than many in its style. Pours a dark brown/reddish. As complex a nose as I’ve ever experienced in this style. Candied fruit, big malt and piney hop combo. Long and slightly sweet, rich flavor that lingers pleasantly. Very good.

Bottle from Cracked Kettle, Amsterdam. Dark-red copper pour with tiny white head. Aroma is predominantly sweet, candy, pineapple, piney hops, bready malt. Full mouthfeel with tastes of pine, raisins, caramel, bready malt and various spices. Very oily palate, a bit of warming alcohol. Malty and sweet - where is that hops? Is my bottle too old perhaps?

Pint, approximately 40deg. Excellent overall. Honey like sweetness followed by citrus overtones, malt, and then the classic IIPA bitterness. If it was cheaper it would be my house beer.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine (bottled January 26, 2009). Pours orange; hard to distinguish in appearance from an IPA. Thin white head on top. Floral hop aroma with a malty sweetness. Piney hop flavor with a well balanced caramel malt sweetness. Excellent balance of hop bitterness and stickiness in the mouthfeel. Alcohol is not noticable at all. Certainly one of the best DIPAs out there.

Bought at a local store in a bottle. The hops are great, malty as well. I didnt like at first, but as it sat and warmed up I couldnt put it down. Mixed emotion, I will have to rerate when I try more IPA’s

One of the best IIPAs on the market, for sure. I tried one out of a Randall recently at the brewpub in Rehoboth. Attempted several times to switch beers, but kept coming back. The stuff is like crack (I assume). If I could choose my own death, it would be by drowning in a vat of DFH 90-Minute.
