one of the most lovely colors ive ever witnessed. starts ultra light, almost lager like and evolves during the pour, as more and more is exposed to light. becomes copper, nearly ruby and eventually tarnished orange. nose is immediately of wonderful malt, crunchy toffee wafer. little of the expected floral hops are present in aroma. flavor is so soft and smooth, coating mouthfeel, taste is lightly of nearly roast coffee, almost wood. willamette hops really come across in a wonderful way that no one else is doing in their IIPAs. this is one of a kind, and amazingly drinkable.

Poured from bottle an orange-blonde with medium sized ecru head. Aroma bursts with a floral citrusy hoppiness but not over-powering like some IPAs. The flavor checks in with nice floral lemony-orange hops, caramel, a touch of malt sweetness and some sweet bread. Palate is surprisingly smooth with just enough sweetness to bitter and a nice malty mouthfeel that makes one believe this couldn’t possibly be that high in ABV. Wow, a truely great beer.

Since I believe that this is simply the best IPA in existence, I give it a perfect rating. So hoppy I want to chew every sip. Caramel flavors with a perfectly bitter oak after-taste; exceptionally smooth. Bronze color with a perfectly carbonated head of sand-coated foam. Perfect beach-taste for a beer born in a little Delaware beach town. A little stronger than the Dogfish Head 60 min. IPA, and just a little better. Their 120 min. is ridiculously good, but too strong to enjoy and remember.

Beer for the Imperial Court of the Krimson King! Poured with and nice head and clear pale amber color. Good lace. Aroma is hoppy and malty; not too fruity. Earthy. Flavor is outta this world tasty. GFD! Lots of clean, chewy, earthy, zesty, robust HOPS mofo! And the malt to make it all work. Excellent body. Carbonation is spot on. Finish is satisfying and in spite of the power, enticing enough to want another. My god, this is beer!

On tap at the Cock and Bull (formerly Glendale Pub) It’s a lightly hazy orange amber and the way the bartender poured it gave it about 3mm of off white. The aroma is of sweet malts and loads of bitter citrusy hops, smells like it’s a sibling of the 120 minute with a similar but lighter mead-like quality. The flavor is sweet up front, followed by citrusy, grassy, bitter hops and a bit of alcohol. This is wonderfully thick and creamy, mouth coating, and warming. Overall this is a great IPA that I will continue to drink.

My favorite IPA. incredible aroma of apricots, citrus and grains. sweet maltyness upfront. a slow inhale through the nose as the brew flows across the tongue will showcase the perfection between the aroma and flavor. Big full fruit and hay/grass flavors. flawless balance. Shear perfection. Pairs really well with Stone’s RIS.
