GMUcrew7 (140), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 14, 2008 Pours beautiful burnt orange, with full light beige head. Fantastic citrus/pine hop aroma. The flavor is reminiscent of the aroma with more of a malt presence making a very well balanced beer. Great sticky sweet mouthfeel, that hides the high alcohol content well. One of the best IPA’s I’ve had.
chrisafari (45), Orange, California, USA Jul 4, 2008 On Tap at Stone Brewing World Bistro and Gardens. Pours amber/orange with small white head. Aroma of sweet hops and citrus. Cloudy. Flavor begins spicy and hoppy then finishes with flavors of nice citrus and roasted nuts. Very impressive Imperial IPA! Damn this is good! urraca (25), New Jersey, USA Jun 29, 2008 Hazy Orange color with a smaller tan head. Instant notes of a floral-hoppy bouquet. Citrus fruity aroma and a sweet grape, hoppy taste. Very drinkable, and the hops actually don’t overpower the other flavors. But a nice crisp, hoppy finish. belgiumtripel (3), , Indiana, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 this beer was extremely smooth for a double IPA i really enjoyed it a lot of good flavors going on you can taste the subtle flavors and the intense but not biteing hops. a great beer canoncritic (1), Seattle, Washington, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 This is simply a great beer. Even by Pacific NW standards. Pretty fruity, which I happen to like. But I would stop at two bottles. Taste becomes a tad too alcohol after two--IMHO. UnaBellaBirra (1), , Illinois, USA does not count Jun 28, 2008 Has the body the 60 minute doesn’t - loved the aftertaste and body in particular. A little stridency in the alcohol takes it away from perfection. I like hops so the criticism of its’ ’hoppiness’ is foreign to me.
