The smell was mostly hops because of the randal, but the taste was nice and sweet from the apricots. Citrusy hops gave a really nice bitter flavor. Was really cool. Pours a light copper color that has a light orange glow towards the bottom of the glass with a one inch white head. The beer has an obvious apricot aroma with some other citrus flavors and just a hint of caramel malt. Apricots dominate the flavor as well. Its soft upfront and leaves a bitterness in the end. I noticed some lemon zest bitterness in the middle as well. Its a light-medium bodied beer that is a bit slick but definitely easy to drink. I actually found this beer to be pretty enjoyable. Its not overly fruity which I was worried about. WVHouseofBeer (392), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 14, 2009 Poured a dark copper color with an off-white head. It was pretty bitter for being a fruit beer, but it was a nice spin on the style. I didn’t taste much apricot though. Overall this was a good beer but not one of Dogfish Head’s best.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 13, 2009 Imperial draft poured on tap at Charleston’s (New Lenox, IL). Pours a dark gold with hints of amber in the body, some red and orange, with light haze, and a moderate white caley head that laces well. Aromas are light, pushing some light florals and citrus with grass and light fruity apricot. More of a pale malt. Initial is a decent body, pushing decent bitterness coupled with fruity apricot, a touch tart and bitter, some citrus and grass, with pale malt body. The fruit sits at the back of the palate, not necessrily sweet, but working well overall. A bit underhopped, but the fruit is nice. Lingering bitterness, pale malt, touch of caramel and apricot. This is nice, out of style, but pleasant, especially for the summer. BeerBunker (617), Burbank, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2009 On tap at Galway Tribes. Pours amber with an off-white head. Aroma is of grass, floral hops, apricots, malt, and alcohol. Taste is of hops, apricot, and alcohol. there is an alcohol presence in this brew, but it only ads to it, unlike most other DFH booze bombs. The apricots blend well with the hops and don’t mess up the balance. Underlying presence of grass. Backbone of malt evens it out. Lingering taste of sweet apricots after each sip. Mouthfeel is light, almost fizzy much like you would expect. Almost an IPA with lots of apricots and way too much booze. bb (2930), Martinez, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 12, 2009 Bottle. Rich amber/bronze beer with a nice dark-cream colored head. Apricot aroma with a light mustiness. Grapefrtui, pine, and apricot flavor with light mustiness. Medium bodied. Some bitterness. Malt and playdough linger with apricot and pine. robertjm (413), El Cerrito, California, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 11, 2009 Nice foamy, off-white head. Body is dark orange in color. Good carbonation bubbles. Aroma, for the most part, is of hops, which traces of apricot in the back. Flavor is very well balanced between the sourness of fresh apricots and hops. There is a tang in the aftertaste reminiscent of apricot. Perhaps it could be a touch more sweet for me, but I’ll drink it again sometime.
