The flavor is sour apricot with a bit of hops at the finish. A little more sour than I would like but overall not a bad beer just not my favorite style. punkrkr27 (644), Berkley, Michigan, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Copper pour with a 2 finger, white head. Apricot and citrus aroma with a little candi sugar and some faint caramel malt. The flavor is mostly citrus upfront with a strong, lingering candied apricot note. The malt is caramel and some subtle nuts. It a bit on the cloying side. Sticky, medium body with soft carbonation. Cavie (1493), Fort Worth, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2009 Clear orange pour. Smell is very much hops with a sense of sweet fruit. Taste is quite sweet but not over the top, with a finish of fruit and hops. Better than most, certainly interesting but still sweeter than I would have liked. viet959 (75), , Georgia, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 7, 2009 Pours clear amber with medium head. Aroma - Hops, and dried apricots. Taste - Sweet dried apricots, a little tart and good bit of hops. Overall - Apricot was definetly there in the smell and taste. Good beer for what it set out to be. A little on the sweet side with a sticky mouth feel for me though. WeeObese (18), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 6, 2009 First let me say that I like Dogfish Head beers, but they can be a little over the top. When I first saw this beer I thought it was going to be hop bomb or a apricot bomb. I wouldn’t have bought the $10 4-pack but the bottle shop manager let me have a taster of one he had just opened and wow not what I expected, it was balanced.
Apperance: Nice off white head that diminishes but stays throughout. Truly a amber colored beer, just like the stone.
Aroma: Smells of fresh hop aromas and dried apricots, very nice.
Flavor: Sweet tart apricots, followed by a nice hop bite but neither really last very long or dominates. Slightly sweet with some tartness and a nice hoppy dry finish.
Palate: Very nice carbonation and somewhat heavy mouthfeel, this may be the only reason that this beer is not one of the better beers for a hot day.
Overall: Very drinkable, and like I said very well balanced, especially for Dogfish Head. Does not seem like 7%, and on a hot day or evening that could be dangerous.

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 6, 2009 Bottle. Fruity aroma. Copper body, thick off-white head. I didn’t expect the apricot flavor to be nearly so apparent. To me, it’s so strong as to be off-putting. Certainly interferes with the anticipation of an IPA. thehurt01 (206), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 6, 2009 A 12 oz bottle. the beer poured a amber body with a fizzy small cream head. the smell is bitter hops. The apricots tone down the hops and add a smoothness the make this easy to drink. good carbonation. Ethereal (1500), London, Greater London, England

The one beer on my trip that I simply did not get along with. Smells of wet dog and old laundry with a bit of apricot air freshener sprayed on top. Sickly, sourish taste. Really not up my street.
