Aroma has a sharp bite and a definite fruit smell, rather like a cider. Flavor is malty and fruity, and has a noticeable apricot component, as well as some hoppy bitterness. Finish is lively and has a good edgy feel. blutt59 (2184), Dallas, Texas, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2008 On the pour out of the bottle, a rocky white head with limited retention & lacing. Good clarity though. There was a very slight apricot aroma but nothing to write home about. But no hop aroma to speak of either. The taste though, the apricot notes were subtle, but present and not overwhelming. Balanced with a nice malt characteristic. The apricot flavor wouldn’t turn off someone who isn’t a fan of fruit beers. The flavoring hops rounded out the beer but were not the first thing I noticed about this brew. garretjax (103), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Clear orange red color with thin off white head. Definate apicot aroma off set by a bitter bite of piney hops. Full body and low carbonation. Initial apricot flavor followed by a brisk blow of hops finishing off in the sweetness of the fruit and alcohol. A bit of a sticky finish, but it’s crisp. jstraw (777), Chicago, Illinois, USA

Orange-amber with big, creamy beige head / Refined nose of baked apricots and sweet malt / Light to medium body, a touch sweet and tart, with moderate fruit and some hops on the good, bready finish / Flavors of baked apricots, bread, and spun sugar / An especially good, elegant fruit beer. dkachur (2432), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 10, 2008 Bottle from Wine Warehouse Charlottesville. Pours a nice amber color with a small head. Good retention and lacing. Not much hoppiness is evident in the aroma, which is mostly the sour side of an apricot. (In a good way). Hops are barely noticeable with the balance of the apricots. Starts sour and then goes sweet. This skews a bit too far away from the hops, but it’s still pretty tasty. bma4573 (136), Mechanicsville, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Pours a light ruby color, with a slight head. Strong fruity aromas. Slight malt flavor and plenty of fruit flavor, but not much on the hop notes, which I didn’t expect given the description. Not bad overall. 17thfloor (1512), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Pours clear pinkish/amber with large bubbles and a soda like fizz. Fruity, sweet malty, metallic can sorta aroma. Soft macro type malts with some sweetness and metallic like bitterness. Little bit of hop saltiness. Really not extremely interesting and doesn’t seem to resemble anything else from DFH. Soda crispness. A miss for me. If the malts were stronger and a little more viscous this could be excellent. Instead its thin and bubbly like a champagne.
