Scents of spice and fake fruitiness, hint of raisen. Palate is fairly light a bit dry nothing special. Flavor just wasn’t very good bland berries a touch sour and wateriness.. blah. | 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 21, 2005 Sourish nose, with hints of berries, no very artificial, which is good. Deep red colored body, small pinksih head. Very watery flavor, weak notes of black currants. madsberg (5072), Søborg, Denmark
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 20, 2005 Bottled: Red coloured. Hazy. Reddish white head. Fruity artificial aroma. Notes of sweetness and light spices. Flavour is dry. Light fruity. Is quite alcoholdense. Thin bodied. Ends on a fruity note. Quite uninteresting. RAYBOY01 (1870), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Sep 7, 2005 Overly sweet with a stale raisin fruitiness that just seems to cling to the palate and drape it with a sodden blanket of weird dried fruit syrupy sort of covering. Potent alcohol presence as well. Not my favorite DH beer. AlexDonovan (14), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 14, 2005 Not terrible, but the first time I can ever say I don’t find a DFH beer to be particularly good, either. I liked the appearance, but I wish it tastes like it looks as though it should. Not much fruit to it, and kind of an odd lack of flavor all around. If it had been more sourness it might have at least approached being some kind of Flanders clone. I’m not sure what DFH was aiming for here, but I think they missed it. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2005 Pours deep red with a thinning off white head. Initially, scents of nuts and sugar pick up before the smell of currants overpowers them. Tastes of aged port, sherry, cherries, courants and sugar. Light alcohol notes tickle the tongue. Very tarte finish. puzzl (2653), New York, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 5, 2005 Wow, the pour on this is quite unique. Deep red with a fizzy pink head. Very nice! Aroma in viney, winey, not much else. I quite like the flavor on this one. It’s cidery, a bit of wine, but still with a bit of a malt backbone. pjk33 (384), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 3, 2005 Bottle. This one pours a pretty purple/rasberry color with a nice lavender head. I think that I just poured Prince into a glass. Nose is a little sour and possibly metallic. No hint of an ale here. Taste goes from a tiny bit of initial sweetness then tart and sour almost like a bad wine. It actually tastes pretty good, well, semi-good I guess. This is really a bit like Malt Duck or the Canadien wine Baby Duck. Body is very fizzy and carbonated and is light. This is an interesting brew, but not really much like beer. You should try it, just to see it and taste it. I liked it.
