Aromas of currants, yeast, and has a little musty earthiness to it. Tastes of fruits and berries. Very lightly sour and lightly malty sweet. Body is a little thin for my tastes. 6 3 6 3 11
Re-rate. ’04 vintage. Poured a deep reddish / brown / purple color. Aromas of berries, courants and light smoke. Light sour and tart finish. TomDecapolis (3197), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured yellow with not much head or aroma. Also sensed a bit of metallic in the taste. A bit too much on the sour side for my taste. I had this in the summer, not sure why it is listed as a winter brew. MaltOne (61), USA

I’m a fan of the Dogfish Brewery, so I like it when they do different things. It’s a fruit beer. Think grape-ade. Served well chilled it’s pretty refreshing. Modest pink tinged head, stunning ruby red color. Aroma is nicely perfumed with current essence. Flavor is ripe currents, sweet with a little tart, like the berries and a hint of yeast/malt in the background. It has a place - make a float with some vanilla ice cream or rasberry sherbet. goldtwins (4084), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 4, 2005 Poured a reddish purple (I went by camp light). Tart fruity aroma of berries and malt. The aroma carried over to the flavor and while I like tart and sour beers this seemed too much for me. I was tempted to pour it out because it was giving me heart burn. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 3, 2005 12 oz bottle. Purple/brown color with a small pink/red head. The aroma is quite fruity with cherry, watermelon, orange and kiwi. The flavor is winey and tart, somewhat champagne-like. It also has some cranberry, hibiscus tea, and has no noticeable bitterness. It improves as it warms. Interesting beer. leitrim65 (398), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 16, 2005 Dark cherry red color wth the most unusual lilac colored head. Lacking in the aroma category with a possible hint of berries and hops. Light bodied with a touch of carbonation. Fruity - berry flavors, a hint of hops, and a tart finish. This one they don’t quite pull off. thehinge (245), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

But that’s what this beer reminds me of though....a sweet, red wine. Has a small head with lacing that sits beneath the surface of the beer. Aroma is kind of grassy. Taste has strong, sour fruit flavors...the courants are definitely displayed Sometimes I wonder why anyone even packages this as a beer...but that’s just me. I know that lambics do have a following...gotta try one soon.

Taste is very tart, like a Lamic. Falls flat, tartness and carbinaton overrides other flavors of berries and mint.
Give a try, not the best though
