Almost looks like Lindemans Framboise. Aroma is cardboardy malt. Taste is weak malt up front with a very sweet fruit aftertaste. Wheat taste as well. No hop characteristics at all in this beer. A poor offering from DFH (and I even thought the Festina Lente was good) beaconstreet (811), Washington DC, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 28, 2004 Slightly spicey, like sauteed ginger. "Bolster my bluster." Hm, right. I don’t feel myself getting any more impenetrable to this oncoming cold, but I do feel the alcohol coming on into my bloodstream. Kinda bitter tasting. Rastacouere (5553), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2004 Light Amber-pink hue. Generous off-white head. Uncomplex leafy (flowery) currant aroma, tartish and candyish. Reminiscent of a southampton peconic county without character. Maybe a bit better than it’s made out to be, but at 7% and from that brewer, you’re bound to expect more extraodinary artifacts. The only grief I have against it is considerable, I don’t see it going anywhere without the currants, the base beer would be seriously bland. CamdenD (606), Madrid, Spain
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Dec 24, 2004 Blueberry Beer. Or something. Mixed with raisins? Wholly unimpressive beer. I suppose the alcohol is well-hidden, but add another slightly dissapointing beer to the Dogfish roster. ericnixon (719), Northampton, Massachusetts, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 5/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Dec 22, 2004 I thought I loved everything Dogfish Head made...until I had this one. Deep cranberry-ish reddish purple color that looked kinda neat. The pinkish head was a little disconcerning, but hey. The flavor was just wrong. Like drinking some kind of tarty, fizzy cranberry juice.
I’ve learned from my mistakes and now I know never to have this again. Lizabeth (360), east falmouth, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2004 Pours deep ruby with a pink head. No lacing. Smell is candy sugar, fruit and leather. Taste is a melange of dark fruit: plums, currents, raisons, plums and grapes. Very winelike. Aurelius (2648), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 20, 2004 Musty, eggy malt aroma. Color was just wrong - peptobismol pink head. Thinnish mouth. Flavor was mildly tart, very lightly sweet, underhopped and boring. Not worth the effort. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Golden, light amber, pouring with a massive airy head. Super sweet nose. Nice alcoholy-sugary flavors ... distinct flavorof sweettarts, almost. Different, and good.
