It pours a hazy light orange color with a short lived fizzy head. Medium bodied with a fizzy mouthfeel, this tastes fruity, grassy, and moderately sour with a dash of hop bitterness. The currents and hops return on the finish. Quietly warming once the abv settles in. Hoss (602), Florida, USA

This was a marginal success but I hope they keep trying BBB63 (4271), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Nov 15, 2004 Bottle: Hazy golden hue with small but lasting frothy head and okay lace. The aroma has notes of currants, bready malts, dusty yeast esters, and wheaty overtones. The taste starts with a twangy fruit kick (currants but some apple and even a hint of grapefruit) on top of a malty and yeasty base. The tastes fades quickly but a sublime bitterness is detected. The feel is blah, not sharp, crisp, or puckery. Like a bad kit creation. Bonus point for covering the 7% ABV well (are you really sure it’s 7?). Wow, I disliked DFH Festina Lente because I don’t like the fruit in question, this one I should have liked because I’m a fan of currant imbued brews. DFH is 1 for 3 with fruit beer, a bad average. They need to talk to the boys from New Glarus on how to brew this genre. I’m not getting all the sourness of some other reviews however. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/20 | Nov 3, 2004 Faint aroma of raspberries and dish soap. Nice white head with lingering effervescence. Yellow orange. Taste is sour and sharp with metallic notes. I still taste soap..something floral-like reminds me of cheap air freshener. Lavender. Blueberries. I don’t like this at all. Maybe a bad bottle? May re-rate if the next one is different. GeniusGirl (221), Boston, Massachusetts, USA

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Oct 24, 2004 Cloudy orange in appearance with no head. The aroma was of sour fruits. I detected a hint of cranberry that stood out in the smell. The taste was of sour fruits: cranberry, tangerine, currant, and some sour grapes. Was watery and very bubbly. I could feel the fruity fix all over my mouth. It kind of tasted like a flavored water on steroids. This beer begins and ends with a light/moderate sour cranberry taste. | 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 20, 2004 An uninspired offering from Dogfish. Cloudy, tangerine appearance with a weak head for a brew which, I imagine, has a decent amount of wheat in the grain bill. Some fruity berry tones in the aroma. Sort of a strange mouthfeel with a touch of zippy hoppiness. The courants are there, but this brew dooesn’t work as a whole.
