12 oz btl. pour an obscure dark purply brown with interesting tan head. aroma of berry, i guess currant, but had that blueberry smell and earth. was sweet and slightly acidic with a very minimal tart berry and malt blend. medium body rich.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy brownish red color with a small off white head. The aroma is lightly malted with currants and light citrus. The flavor is sweet, fruity (currants but also raspberry), with a bit of malt. This leaves a sour taste in the mouth as well as a hint of bitterness. Not bad, but a one time try.

Body is a foggy red/orange hue, with a thin white head. Aroma is slightly sour with heavy currants, lemongrass, raspberries. Taste has a sweet tang to it, earthy, with cherries, currants, light hops fading in the background.

Bottle. Cloying black currant aroma. Clear, vibrantly ruby body with a thin pinkish head. Strange taste! Sweet but not cloying - seems natural. Tart currant-and-raspberry, acidic medium-full body with notes of vanilla and alcohol. Touch of bitterness in the mid-back tongue. Smooth and tangy, has vague lambic aspirations but, well, let’s just leave it at that. Finish is sour/dry. Strange bird, this one!

Bottle. Very light golden color. Smelss kind of sweet. The taste of this is like those candy hearts you get at valentines day. Slight taste of vanilla.

12oz bottle, 2003, courtesy of SpringsLicker. Thanks, Jay! Pours a hazy, golden-orange color; off-white head with pleasant lacing. Grapes and red fruits in the aroma, with a hint of tartness, yeast and dough. Medium-to-full, chewy mouthfeel: plenty of doughy and bready notes; red fruits and currants and vinous qualities; a warming thread of vanilla running throughout. Surprisingly good for such low. This seems to have been well-cellared, and perhaps it’s doing well in its old age. Medium, red fruit and sugar finish.
