Aromas of cherries, Spice, sugar, au courant . Deep red in color, nice pink head and lace was present. Aroma was fantastic sweet, fruity malty. Very tart and SHARP. This beer goes down smooth and leaves the mouth happy and tart.

Ya gotta love what Sam is doing in Delaware! Kind of like a big brother to Raison d'etre, this is an extraordinary beer, ready for your holiday table, though I'd serve it in a regular pint glass instead of the recommended flute. More of the nose seems to come through that way, and this is a nose not to be missed. I look forward to sitting in front of my fireplace tomorrow evening, enjoying an Au Courant while reading Clement Moore's classic poem to my sons....Merry Christmas! (Hope my family sees this and buys me a case as a present!)

2003 12oz Vintage. Pure Gusher! Pours hazy orange copper color with 1" of frothy with head. Aromas of grapes, sweet malt, and sugar. Flavor was just the same as the aroma. Very "slammable" brew and just downright good. I would like to have had a fresh batch of this to compare...

Amber pour with minimal head. Initial aromas of grape that become currant. Fizzy like a nice warm belgian ale. Suble fruit flavors. Re-rated with new recipe. The new yeast that’s used in this tastes very much like Fantome. Awesome stuff now.

Sweet and wonderful. Another great beer from a great brewery. Raisiny and fruity. An easy to drink brew.

Had to rerate this years batch, much better than last year. Color matches what you expect to taste, but the fun label is gone :( No more bolstering my bluster, now its just "an ale brewed with currants" A bit more tart this year, and loads more flavor. Nice job!! Very drinkable, I am a fan of fruit beers (sweet or sour) though. I am officially making this my summer beer (while it lasts!). I have noticed a big difference though between bottles, same temp, etc. Might be improperly cared for at the liquor store. Nose was more grapey than currant, but the taste was right-on! A slight tart currant/cherry flavor. Typically I see fruit used in wheats, this was a great alternative. Be careful, its only a few percent more alcohol than a standard beer, but it will catch up to you! I wish this was a year round offering!!!!

I really liked this fruit beer. Not too sweet, raspberry, light hop and courant flavors. Finishes clean, crisp, and dry.

Golden, light amber, pouring with a massive airy head. Super sweet nose. Nice alcoholy-sugary flavors ... distinct flavorof sweettarts, almost. Different, and good.
