Beer is a copper color with a smal white head. Aroma of fruit, spices and maybe a little yeast. Flavor of malt, blueberries, a little yeast. Interesting beer, but not my cup of tea. Naka (525), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 4, 2008 A clear amber color with a burgundy hue. Has a thick foamy head with a bit of a pinkish tint. The nose is a slightly bittersweet raspberry aroma with some coriander and other spices. A little vanilla as well. The berries are much more pronounced in the flavor. The alcohol in this isn’t at all subdued. The finish is pretty much all a warming alcohol. The vanilla and spices are underneath there somewhat. A medium bodied beer. No real carbonation to speak of. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

They were not as fruity. Still bready and somwhat bitter on the finish. Still very good. Magicdave6 (5520), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: Thin belgiun ale, berry notes, alcohol warms but is well hidden, seems pritty bland and as if the strong alcohol has mad it thinner. M0RHI (1067), Luxembourg, Luxembourg

Nose is bramble and hay, creamy though. Slight dishwater tones about it. Mouth is creamy, some brambles, some fizz, lots of cream. No finish, slight lasting creaminess, cloying. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 30, 2008 Updated: Aug 21, 2008Tasting, courtesy of Fordest’s event. Beer#14. hazy copper-red color with a thin white head. Fruity aroma with mixed berries and some barnyard funk. Flavor was sweet and sour fruits (but i could not specifically taste any blueberries or blackberries). The mouthfeel was smooth and malty. The finish was dry and kinda sour. overall: After the Cantillion blabar a high bar has been set for all other blueberry concoctions; and this beer, while quite good, suffers by the recent comparison.
Rerate note: Received a bottle from Secret Santa (Sprinkle). My first sample was from a two ounce rating, and I’m surprised to see that my comments do not drastically change now that I have a full bottle at my disposal. However I’m increasing my rating by a tenth as I find that I throughly enjoy this concoction.. wetherel (1627), Encinitas, California, USA
