I find their brews (other than WWS) less than spectacular w/ more hype than flavor. This brew is actually pretty good though. Pour is a ruby red. Really drinkable w/ a light, slightly fruity/caramel flavor. georgekappus (296), Brookfield, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Bottle. Pours an interesting reddish yellowish color, with a wine consistency. What little head there is dissipates quickly. The aroma is fruity, that of berries almost like a grape juice smell. It comes across very carbonated perhaps to infuse the berries. It finishes a strong berry flavor almost like a mixed berry schnapps. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 9, 2007 750ml bottle. Ruby hued with a moldy white head. Bright fruit aromas. Blueberry and chery. Raisins with a touch of spice. Toasty brownie malt aromas. Full bodied with a high gravity. Bready malts and big fruity notes. Sugary with a mild alcohol burn. Moderate effervescence. Brownie and fruit notes. Mixed berries, raspberries blueberries and cranberries. An almost grapey flavor. Tart and sour. sugar and yeasty. Vinuous yet malty. This was a fun beer. drfabulous (1244), Columbia, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Not as good as I had hoped. Slight after taste of the bruit, but the "Belgian" part does not come through at all. More of a pale ale with some fruit taste. MartinT (5055), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2007 My Bottom Line:
Caramelized cereals and nondescript fruitiness meld in a portly body enlightened by fizziness. This is a decent beer apéritif, but its excessive shyness disappoints.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A ring of foam disappears into the glowing red-tinged amber.
-A light biscuity maltiness supports the cereal sweetness.
-Alcohol is well hidden, as is expected from Dogfish Head.
-Grassy spiciness tickles the nose and aftertaste, but isn’t defined.
-The finish is a fast fade out of the flavor profile, and doesn’t help to keep interest in your glass.
-I would have liked the fruitiness to be more expressive, or at least juicier.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 7, 2007 [75 cl bottle] Ruby colour, weak head. Aroma is very subtle. Flavour is sweet with notes of sourish berries. The taste of alcohol is noticeable but not disturbing. A drinkable beer but still a minor disappointment.
